I was working in the school, late one night
When my eyes beheld an '80s sight
Molly Ringwald from the basement rose
And wearing all her Eastland clothes

She did the mash
She did the Eastland Mash
The Eastland Mash
It was a schoolyard smash
She did the mash
It caught on in a flash
She did the mash
She did the Eastland Mash

From her HAM radio in the basement east
To the Tiny Caf where the students feast
The girls all came from their humble rooms
Polishing up all the plastic spoons

They did the mash
They did the Eastland Mash
The Eastland Mash
It was a schoolyard smash
They did the mash
It caught on in a flash
They did the mash
They did the Eastland Mash

The party was getting fly
(Tumpy and Gail already high)
The cast included Sue Ann,
Nancy O, and her guy

The girls were rockin', Tootie digging the beat
From Blair and Nat, to Cindy, athlete
The Eastland teachers were about to arrive
With their vocal group, 'The Mahoney Five'

They played the mash
They played the Eastland Mash
The Eastland Mash
It was a schoolyard smash
They played the mash
It caught on in a flash
They played the mash
They played the Eastland Mash

Out from his office, Crock's voice did ring
Seems he was troubled by just one thing
He opened the door, shook his fist and say
"Whatever happened to my Shakespearean play?

It's now the mash
It's now the Eastland Mash
The Eastland Mash
It was a schoolyard smash
It's now the mash
It caught on in a flash
It's now the mash
It's now the Eastland Mash

Now everything's cool, Crock's a part of the band
And the Eastland Mash plays through Peekskill-land
For you, the viewer, this mash was meant too
When you get to the door, tell them Molly sent you

Then you can mash
Then you can Eastland Mash
The Eastland Mash
And do this schoolyard smash
Then you can mash
You'll catch on in a flash
Then you can mash
Then you can Eastland Mash

OH Nuts!

Why thank you, ON!

Very original.

Well, about as "original" as one can get, considering the lyrics are just modified for Eastland usage...

Still, I crack myself up with these silly creations. Can't wait for Christmas!

Of course I had to include all the Lost Girls! :)

I had originally wanted Mr. Bradley in the song, but The Crock fit the song much better, what with him insisting on them reciting his play. It could only have been Mr. Bradley if he insisted the girls write a poem, take an exam, conduct a genealogy project, or run a race.

Retro this is "SPOOK"TACULAR!!! :brent: :brent: :brent:

I LOVE the imagery of long lost Lost Girl Molly rising up from her basement dwelling to do The Eastland Mash! :brent:

And so many wonderful details!!!

Although on one hand, from the title of this thread, I was so giddy it was a spoof all about Molly since it's called "The Molly Mash", but in the thread it's actually "The Eastland Mash". True it does begin with Molly for the first verse/chorus/verse, I just expected her to "carry" the whole thing, lol. But it is fun to see it branch out into more good ol' vintage Eastlandness. :grouphug:

It's so hard to single out favorite parts because it's such a winning piece!! :clap :clap :clap

Fantastic!!

And don't forget to "tell them Molly sent you"!

Yeah, originally it was going to be "the Molly Mash", but that didn't feel very inclusive. And I'm not sure that characters like Tumpy and Gail ever actually met Molly (at least, they never did on screen), so it had to become the Eastland Mash.

Working in a lab definitely had an impact on Miss Mahoney's hair. She had a different style every episode.
