Has anyone ever read Cousin Geri's Facts of Life reviews?

No, it's not the real Cousin Geri. The author's real name is Vikki. Her reviews are not as good as crf1970s reviews, but no one can top him. But they are along the same line. A review with comedy.

That was a remarkable review, and i can see why 80s compares it a bit to the ones cfr1970 usually delivers: the similarity is amazing!!!! (are you sure it's not you, cfr1970????)

Vikki's reviews are awesome. I agree they are as good and funny and as thorough as CFR's.

A few years back, I requested Vikki review a Season 1 episode, "Running", which she did (http://cousingeri.blogspot.com/2014/11/recap-episode-1-11-running-or-my-first.html)! It made my day, just reading it.

Vikki is very busy, now, in law school, apparently.

I just read the review and loved it. She has the same type of humor I used in my reviews and even made notice of Natalie and how she tried not to laugh during her scenes. (I knew I wasn't the only one who saw it!)

She accuses Mindy Cohn of chewing gum to stifle the laughs though. That's an interesting observation that i have to look for next time I watch the earlier episodes because I never noticed that before.

I do have to say writing those reviews are a LOT of work and it began to exhaust me after a while and also started taking up too much of my time. So I respect others who take the time to write up reviews like that. It's fun to do, but takes up so much time. This girl is really good at her reviews and I bookmarked the site to read more later on. :)

Thanks valentina!

I'm bouncing around on other boards here and watching other shows and movies these days. I know you like horror films too and I finished up all the Freddy films and just started the Final Destinations last week and then I post over on the Movie board.

I'm taking a break from FOL. After going through the whole series, I want to catch up on other shows. :)

There are definitely early episodes where Mindy is chewing gum.

Let me tell you: we soooo appreciated your time. The reviews were enjoyable to read, but I'm glad you're not exhausting yourself anymore. It's easy to pop off a reply to someone; far more difficult to carefully watch an episode and then write up your thoughts about it... especially while jazzing it up with a little humor.

It's right here on Sitcoms Online. At the top of this page you see the blue links, and the last one says "Chit Chat Board" and on the next page, you choose the "Movies" board. Here's the link that will take you directly there and you'll see my "Final Destination" and "Nightmare on Elm St." threads.

I completely missed your reply yesterday when I replied to valentina! Sorry Retro!

I'll have to look close next time to see it. Funny I noticed her braces and not her chewing gum.

Thanks! I has a lot of fun doing them, especially for the later episodes that I never saw before because they were new...and it helped that the show was getting a little more bizarre as the series limped towards it's end which gave lots of ammunition to make fun.

But it started taking longer and longer to do them that the fun was starting to drain out of it, so when I finally got around to season 2 episodes which I already saw I was like "Thank God!", I can stop!

Now when I read other people's reviews I know how much work is put into them and appreciate them more.

I thought them showing MIndy/Natalie with gum in her mouth was gross. Just let Mindy be Natalie be Mindy.

To keep this FOL related, it's a shame none of the girls ever did a horror film where they got splattered by a serial killer. But back in those days it was more difficult for TV stars to cross over into film.

There was one called "Happy Birthday to Me" where Mary from "Little House on the Prairie" played a psycho killer who held a birthday party for herself and murdered all the guests. Too bad none of the FOL girls got that opportunity. That would've been fun to see.

OMG, Happy Birthday to Me is soooooo bad!:lol::lol::lol:

It's like Melissa Sue Anderson was trying to destroy her goody-goody image as Mary Ingalls with the worst TV movie script she could find!

I haven't seen it in so many years...probably since the 80's but it's one I really want to see again. I don't remember it being THAT terrible, but my memory of it is hazy.

I just remember that end scene with all the dead friends sitting at the birthday table with psycho Mary.

Yes she was trying to shed that wholesome image from Little House and I do remember it was shocking to see sweet little Mary like that...I have to get the dvd or find if it's streaming on Amazon so I can see it again.

Maybe that killed any chances of a FOL girl to do a film like that? Also, there was a hooker movie that Jan Brady did to shed her wholesome image that bombed so maybe seeing those 2 stars fall flat on their faces made the girls not veer too far away from the show.

Still, I would've liked to have seen one of the girls get hacked to death in a horror. Even Mrs. G too.

Oh my god i think you and i have got absolutely the same taste, cfr1970: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME is one who goes at the top of my list in the horror genre! (i actually got it on DVD).
What makes it so particular, is the fact that sweet Mary from LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE is the slasher and she was great at it too, but that should come of no surprise: usually the 'goody two shoes' are the most frightful ones!!!!:devil::devil:

About FOL meet HORROR: i absolutely vote for having MRS G as the slasher, killing the girls one by one!!!!! (starting with TOOTIE and finishing with BLAIR)....
Here is the plot: a feisty red haired middle aged woman works as a Governess in an all girls school; she wears black clothes and walks up and down all day, always supervising the teenage girls, waiting for them to get in trouble so she can hit them with her large cane/ruler she carries along with her.
One day, out of the blue, she goes ballistic: her laughter turns evil, she grabs a knife and with her face twisted by a crazy smile, she approaches all the girls saying: COME TO MAMA LITTLE MICE!!!! I'M GOING TO TEAR YOU TO PIECES SO I CAN HAVE YOU FOR MY DINNER!!!!!!:mod::mod::mod:

PS: i do like part 2 on FINAL DESTINATION, but i prefer the airplane ones (therefore part 1 and the last one). I'm a big fan in disaster movies, plane crashes being one of them lol!

I'd want Jo to get whacked first...Mrs. G stabs her in the eyes with a big fish pen. Natalie & Tootie can get whacked together. Since they're such besties they should die together.

Blair of course gets to be the Final Girl who battles Mrs. G and survives in the end--but goes psycho herself and continues the slaughter on a new crop of girls when she becomes Eastland's Headmistress.
