I sent a black-and-white headshot to Akil and it landed on her desk the week before she was casting Toni's sister. I remember I went in and I auditioned twice and, to this day, I do not know how I booked that show. I asked Robi why she brought me in when I had nothing and she told me, "I just liked your face."
