View Full Version : Are Junkyard Owners Usually Poor? MIKEPR 11-12-2019, 08:42 PM Just from watching it seemed like Fred never made a whole lot of money in all the years he owned it. GoldenTV 11-13-2019, 02:38 AM In the episode where they were dong their income tax, Calvin (tax preparer) estimate that Sanford made $3,000 form the junk business, and $3,000 from social security. In todays dollars, that would be $28,000. Since they did not pay mortgage/rent, that would make $2,300 a month as their income. MIKEPR 12-18-2019, 05:05 PM Last night they went back to the 1st episode where Lamont where he was saying he wasn't gonna spend the rest of his life working in the junkyard living poor. Funny thing since Lamont is in his early 30's here. Of course Fred didn't see himself poor either. TSMIV 12-18-2019, 10:01 PM No. Scrap and sheet metal is lucrative, hence the high theft rate of copper. norbertborder 12-19-2019, 12:18 PM No. Scrap and sheet metal is lucrative, hence the high theft rate of copper. Lol - good one. --- Lamont: "Did you hear that? He's selling that copper for ten cents a pound. I looked that up in the paper. You know what it's going for? Thirty-eight cents a pound." Fred: "Then why is he selling it to us for a dime?" |
