Clearly doesn't know Sue Ann was the smart one of the show, and thinks she and Cindy are interchangeable since Blair called Sue Ann thunder thighs. Cindy Brady? Me thinks he was watching The Brady Bunch when he wrote it. Clearly this guy only watched Running, Flash Flood, and The Little Chill. You caught some of the mistakes, Lorimar (Thunder Thighs and Brady), but there are plenty more! (I don't regard Nancy wanting to be a model an error, since she did try out in PB... except perhaps an error of omission, all things considered...). '80sSitcoms 09-14-2019, 12:15 AM I love how there are more mistakes than "Facts". Priceless. Boy, would Mr. Gideon be FURIOUS with this guy. RetroGuy2000 03-27-2020, 03:49 AM Any more guesses? 80s Dude 03-27-2020, 10:00 AM Any more guesses? Nancy O. wanted to be a psychiatrist, not a model. FOL-FAN-ITA 03-27-2020, 11:30 AM The Reunion was the episode where George asks Blair to be his date for his high school reunion, not TLC. I have a silly question, forgive me guys. Cindy's name is Cynthia?? I don't remember this, I only remember that in season 8 she became a model and changed her surname from Webster to Baker RetroGuy2000 03-27-2020, 01:25 PM Nancy O. wanted to be a psychiatrist, not a model. True, but in "Pretty Babies", she does try out modeling for Jonathan Dutton. (He's looking for someone younger). RetroGuy2000 03-27-2020, 01:28 PM The Reunion was the episode where George asks Blair to be his date for his high school reunion, not TLC. Ding ding ding! Correct! I have a silly question, forgive me guys. Cindy's name is Cynthia?? I don't remember this, I only remember that in season 8 she became a model and changed her surname from Webster to Baker We never heard the name Cynthia, only Cindy. While it's possible that was her name, it does not appear to be canonical, and it would be a little confusing, because we see a character named Cynthia in another episode. While it's possible that was her name, it does not appear to be canonical, and it would be a little confusing, because we see a character named Cynthia in another episode. Yes, where are you getting "Cynthia"? The only "Cynthia" is the girl from the season 2 episode "Breaking Point". Cindy has always been "Cindy". As for her surname, I think we're just supposed to give the writers of "The Little Chill" a pass on that, because Cindy is (sadly) the only girl whose surname was never mentioned in season 1. So the writers of TLC had nothing to go on, so, I assume, they thought they could just make up whatever they wanted her surname to be, and did. Those writers, by the way, had nothing to do with season 1. TLC was their very first FOL script. But Julie Anne knows Cindy's surname was Webster, so I'm assuming she was listed that way in the credits on a script or scripts. I am not getting "Cynthia" at all; that is pure Vincent Terrace! And it would be too confusing, because Cynthia dies, and because we really don't need yet another Emily/Steve(n) situation. If the writers of TLC watched the episodes, as you say, they wouldn't have come across the last name Webster, so it seems like a reasonable mistake on the writers' part. But I wonder why/if Julie Anne didn't mention it to them herself, since she obviously knew in 2006 during the DVD interviews (and later). '80sSitcoms 03-27-2020, 02:04 PM Maybe because she'd been so out of the acting game at that point that she felt insecure about "correcting" them? RetroGuy2000 03-27-2020, 02:07 PM Maybe because she'd been so out of the acting game at that point that she felt insecure about "correcting" them? Could be. They have an older copy of Tim Brooks and Earle Marsh's book (The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network and Cable TV Shows), and I believe that edition is from 1984. My edition lists Cindy's last name as Webster, but if the edition on the library shelves is from the mid-1980s (and I believe it is), we'll know the name Webster was established and canonical before TLC. (I may find it in newspaper articles before libraries reopen). It's also possible that there was a character treatment that Julie Anne read, discussing the character, including her last name. This would have been, I think, typical when they were developing the characters. But at any rate, "Cindy Brady" is absolutely NOT the character's name anywhere! RetroGuy2000 03-27-2020, 02:36 PM In one of the bonus features on the FOL seasons 1 & 2 DVD set. My 1996 edition of Total Television, by Alex McNeil, lists her full name as Cindy Webster. There are earlier editions going back as early as 1980. An edition prior to TLC would tell us the character was definitely known as Cindy Webster prior to TLC. And I strongly suspect that is the case, because it's highly unlikely the author would edit an older entry. But I'll verify with an older edition, once the Coronavirus craze has settled down (BTW, how are things now, in Italy? Still awful, I guess.) FOL-FAN-ITA 03-27-2020, 03:33 PM Still awful, more than 1000 people died in the last 24 hours. How is the situation there? RetroGuy2000 03-27-2020, 03:47 PM Still awful, more than 1000 people died in the last 24 hours. How is the situation there? I am so, so sorry to hear that. :( Here in my area, there have been no deaths, and only two CV cases. However, everything is shut down, a total disaster for the economy. But it seems to have helped keep the spread of the plague down, because we have only had two cases in the region, both cases from people coming from overseas. Even though this has been a horrific tragedy, I hope something can be learned about how diseases can so easily be spread, how we can better fight these things in the future, and how important it is that we have leadership that listens to the scientific community, not just dismissing scientific concerns as "hoaxes".
