what lyrics in theme songs have you thought were right but you've found out you've had them wrong?
I always though that, in the GREEN ACRES theme when Lisa sings "Neeew York is where I'd rather stay..." when the show first aired in the 60s I thought it was "Nooo, York is where I'd rather stay..."
And in THE BRADY BUNCH theme when they sing "Here's the story...of a man named Brady..." back when the show first aired in the early 70s I thought they sang "Here's the story...of Adam Brady..."

Up until a few months ago I always thought that she said "I swear" instead of "Times Square."

Two from Gilligan's Island

If not for the courage of the fearless crew
the Minnow would be lost.
The Minnow would be lost.

When I was little I thought it was "The Middle would be lost"! :D

And in the closing theme :

So this is the tale of our castaways,
they're here for a long, long time.
They'll have to make the best of things,
it's an uphill climb.

Instead of" it's an uphill climb" , I thought it was" It's enough to cry" !:D

LOL, I used to think they were singing- "through the courtesy of Pretzel Pete".

I used to say to myself- "Who the hell is Pretzel Pete?"

"Diff'rent Strokes" theme: I thought the line was: "They got nothing but their dreams." But, it's "They got nothin' but their jeans" !!!

To this day, I can't understand what he's saying. It sounds like "I'm gonna get some braggets, and some rolls and reezamizing..."

in the TOP CAT theme, after the line "close friends get to call him T.C." the next line always sounded to me to be "come right in he's rippin' a T" but it's "as long as it is with dignity"

It took me years to figure out That Girl lyric "she's tinsel on a tree'' -- sounded like "she's enchilada dream."

Petticoat Junction
Mistaken Lyric: "Lots of curves..."
Actual Lyric: "Lots occurs..."

I believe "Lots of curves..." is correct.

The implication is that there are curves in the railroad tracks,
"Lots of curves, you bet!" (Cannonball train depicted)
followed by "Even more, when you get, to the junction"
with a strong implication that Billie Jo, Bobbie Jo, and Betty Jo all
have "curves" themselves (depicted inside the water tower).

I spent a lot of time at an old Petticoat Junction website, I don't believe the word "occurs" ever came up.

That's what I thought until I started watching it on Pluto and closed captioning said "occurs." Closed captioning is probably wrong. Certainly wouldn't be the first time.
