"Gilmore Girls": Rory Quits Yale and Moves In with her Grandparents (Season 5 Finale)


The heart of "Gilmore Girls" was always the mother-daughter relationship between Lorelai and Rory… so of course, this finale went ahead and nuked that, having model student Rory impulsively quit Yale and get into a huge fight with her mom that left them not speaking to one another. (Plus, her stuffy, Yale-loving grandparents actually supported this?!)

It took half of Season 6 to untangle a feud that never should’ve happened in the first place.
