...and his social and political views? Correct me if I'm wrong, but there was a later episode were the wealthy parents wouldn’t buy their son a $60 USD shirt, and where the father (Cosby) bought his teenage television daughter a used 1960s automobile (in 1980s).

I'm afraid so. It seems that Bill Cosby became more anviliicous as the years went by.
