You choose? The 50s with I Love Lucy? How bout' the 60s and Gilligan's Island? Or maybe the 70s and Three's Company are more your taste?

I'd personally choose the 70s. So many groundbreaking and hilarious sitcoms came from the decade. What's Happening and Three's Company being my favorites.

The 80s would a close 2nd though with many great sitcoms such as The Golden Girls and Cheers

1960s Sitcoms but I'd really miss I LOVE LUCY and early episodes of Leave It to Beaver.

For me the choice is easy, definitely the 1960's. It's always been my opinion that the 50's was the decade for westerns, 60's the decade for sitcoms, and 70's the decade for police/detective shows. TV shows from the 1980's and forward are pretty much all unwatchable in my opinion.

I would say the best years for sitcoms would have been between 1957-67, with the peak years being from 1960-64.

1951-1971 were my favorite times of television.

Most of my favorites started 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960!

Definitely the 70s-- two of my favorites were from that time: Barney Miller and The Bob Newhart Show!

I’d go with the 80s simply because my all-time favorite sitcom is Mama’s Family.

As much as I love the 60s Paul Henning sitcoms and the sitcoms of the 90s, the 80s is my pick.

I like some 70s sitcoms (mostly “The Jeffersons”) but it never was my favorite decade.

The only shows I like from the 50s are “I Love Lucy” & “Leave It to Beaver”.

Definitely the 1990's for me. The 1980's would be a close second though.

The 1970s closely followed by the 1960s.Counting TV and music together, I consider the 1970s entertainments greatest decade.Again closely followed by the 60s.It was also a very good decade for movies along with movies made during the 1960s,50s and before.

I pick the 1960s.

A good variety of sitcoms, westerns, cop shows, drama.

70's for me but i'd find it hard to go on without my Bewitched.

Bewitched ended in 1972.

But I would say...the 1990's. And if anything, I'd tape some of them as well...especially the one-year wonders!

Second...the 1960's...because those sitcoms were campy.

Third...the 1980's...since shows returned to the 1950's and 1960's standards.

Fourth...the 1970's...they had a lot of real situations that many have endured.

Fifth...the 1950's...I Love Lucy was in that decade.

Never...2000's and beyond...most sitcoms now are...meh...

Still, it's considered a 60's sitcom, not 70's. And if I had to just have the 70-72 episodes to watch I wouldn't be too thrilled since I feel the best episodes were with Dick York as Darren, and especially the first 2 seasons.

Well...Bewitched peaked in the 60's. The Dick Sargent Era was when the show was dwindling. Is it like Cheers being considered an 80's show though it ended in 1993 or The Facts of Life an 80's show too though it started in 1979?

My feeling is when shows straddle 2 decades, you go by the decade it had more seasons in. Facts of Life did start in 79, but only the first 4 episodes aired before 1980, so i'd definitely call it an 80's show, but technically speaking, it could be called 70's I guess since that's when it was conceived.

An exception to this I think would be Friends which I feel can be argued as both a 90's AND 00's show since it aired for half of 2 decades. Same with Frasier too.

Had Bewitched aired till say 1974, then I would call it both a 60's & 70's show.
