Mary is so lady-like and refined...that practically only Ted can get her to snap
(That “shut up” scene was classic!). Pushy Phyllis, passive-aggressive Sue Ann, ocassionally overbearing LouMary keeps her composure and sadly, sometimes caves into their unreasonable requests. Think of some things you’d love to hear her say! I’ll start:

Phyllis: Oh Mary darling, can you sell this book of 400 tickets for Bess’s school cookie drive? I knowI can count on you, you never let me down.

Mary: Well there’s a first time for everything! I have a full-time job with long hours, and NO TIME or luggage for your guilt-trips. Go blow it out your lingonberry tortes!

Mary: Sue Ann, don't you ever get tired of being a low-class hussy?

To Mr. Grant: NO, you can not come over for dinner for the 8th night in a row; I’m not running a restaurant.

To Georgette: How can you stand to be with such a blow-hard as Ted?!
