'80sSitcoms 01-25-2019, 12:39 AM HAHAHA I'm Bert? Well, you're just in Bert's place. You're the most laid-back, low-key, amiable, affable, easy-going guy around here, so I thought I'd put you in the middle, to balance out passionate, long-winded*, conviction-holding, given-to-creativity me and Retro on each side. lol *(note, I do not mean this as a fault, simply that, Retro, it's not uncommon for the two of us to go in-depth into our posts, investigations, and "dissertations", lol) Think of it kind of like Tootie in-between Blair and Sue Ann, haha :p (or Blair and Jo, just without the animosity, lol) RetroGuy2000 01-25-2019, 12:51 AM Long-winded?! "Have I just been insulted?!" Just kidding! We do tend to wax poetic and write long diatribes. But I like that you do that, as there is thus more to respond to. She is featured in a full episode of the show on the "Sesame Street Old School: Volume 1" DVD box set. And, she had a crush on Bob! This interview by Charlotte says it all: "I love her, I love her" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86rYDsypJC8) Geri's books goes more in depth on her reminding Charlotte of her son, but she also says when the producers offered her just one episode for the "fifth season" (actually season six), she felt rejected, not just by the producers, but also by Charlotte. Charlotte denied this, and always said she had no say over who was to stay and who was to go. RetroGuy2000 05-08-2019, 11:57 PM Hmmmmmmm, yes, according to that...I have never heard any other source claim that. We'll have to ask Kim. No need: I don't believe it myself; it's not in Kim's book, and definitely would have been. Apparently watching FOL that way makes you a fan for life! Haha! Clearly! (and yup, they had a giant dinosaur console TV that sat on the floor, too---and I sat right in front of it, enraptured for who knows how many hours now!! :loveya: ) I also sat right in front of my grandparents' console TV, too. Why on earth take something so universally known and revered and a treasured part of magical fantasy, something unattainable but beloved, and attach it to something mundane in our actual world? New York's new Sesame Street is not the Sesame Street. In terms for this board, it would be like picking some girls' school in New York and renaming it "Eastland School for Girls". Maybe you would like that, but I wouldn't. Especially if it doesn't even look like Eastland (which I have a strong feeling this "Sesame Street" doesn't look like Sesame Street). There would be maroon and blue uniforms, and the building would be covered in ivy... There would be dorms, a library, a cafeteria, and of course classrooms. But Sunday and Monday this week I actually went through a grieving process over Caroll, and seeing so many others online going through the same thing, I realize now to a degree what it must have felt like for the public when Jim passed. As a kid, I found soap opera storylines pretty boring. I guess I would have found them more interesting if they had a supernatural element.
