I have seen several comments on both Sitcoms and the My Three Sons Fans Facebook page regarding this funny episode and Barbara stepping out of character. I found the following which nicely explains how the episode came about.
The one is the newspaper listing and the other is from a Facebook page which basically mimics the newspaper, but included a backstage picture :)

If you were to put together a top ten list of M3S episodes, this rarely-seen episode would have to be near the top of it.
I agree, one of my favorites, next to "The Lostling."

Thanks for posting those images.
If CBS or ABC were to do a My Three Sons primetime special, and decided to lean toward airing one ep each from S1 and S12, those highlighted and mentioned here would be sound choices.

You know, that's an interesting idea. If CBS ever returns to a nostalgia kick (like they did with I Love Lucy and Dick Van Dyke for a few years), they could remaster and air The Enthusiast.

I saw this episode recently on Me-TV, and I thought of Ms. Garland's time on Stump the Stars as soon as I saw her playing charades here. Stump the Stars was a very tough game of charades, as the 2 4-celebrity teams had just about 2 minutes to guess very long phrases that didn't exist as common expressions but often if not usually had puns built into them.
