They said on Twitter it's just maintenance and it should be back soon. It would've been a good time to be up considering the news of Step by Step Season 1 coming from Warner Archive next month!

I've noticed it, also. They've been around for years--strange it never happened before.

I hope when they restructure it, they change it so you can search for a past review without having to go thru the whole alphabet. Really annoying.

I'm a skeptical person so I'll believe the site is on line again if/when it happens. It's been down since the 17th, today is the 22nd, that's a long time for "maintenance". The least they could do is post an update on the Twitter page, but that hasn't happened either, so yeah I'm skeptical.

I always check it every evening after 6 because that is when they post the new releases for the day. I’ve been using it since 2006 so it would be a shame if it didn’t come back.

There appears to be nothing out there like that site. Some items come up on the search engine, but they're junk sites that really are nothing to do with TV DVD releases, or sites that are about movie DVD releases.

Maybe somebody should devote part of this site to TV DVD release dates.

For the most part if there is a DVD release, it is posted on this site.

Same here. I should have known something was wrong when he didn't answer the latest one...I had sent him an email about the problems with the new Joey Bishop DVD set.

Some business owners might be embarrassed about having to close their business so they're deceptive about it. It depends on the circumstances. Someone who's had a successful business for many years, then decides to retire is more likely to just come out and say they are closing.

You can check both Twitter & Facebook without signing up if the page is open to the public, which it is.

Well I just started following them on Twitter, but it won't be the same. Plus Twitter gets really confusing sometimes as you don't often see everything from people you follow.

I'll miss TVShowsOnDVD, but it is what it is, I wasn't checking the site as frequently as I used to because I have DVD's of most shows that I'm interested in.

One thing I'm still waiting for is season 3 of The Flying Nun. Either that, or a brand new complete series DVD release, I'd go for either one. If it ever gets released I imagine I'll find out about it here or someplace else.

The "holy grail" release for me would be the complete series release of "That's Life", 1968 musical/comedy series with Robert Morse and EJ Peaker. There was a cast reunion a few years ago and Robert Morse and EJ Peaker both attended, there was discussion at the time about prospects for a DVD release, but it sounds like all the musical performances in the episodes make it too cost prohibitive to release on DVD. Too bad. :(

Does anyone else find this news infuriating? First, they say they're going down for "maintenance," and then come back to say they're closed down for good. How deceitful. Then they say that they're only going to be posting on social for now on. Well, I look at their Facebook feed, and they haven't posted on there in over 2 years, despite the announcement that they've closed down their website (it looks like they've been very active on Twitter though). How the hell are we supposed to view the announcements they've made since then on Facebook? Poor strategy, poor execution. This whole circumstance was handled poorly and I think we deserve a better explanation of why it was closed or we should have at least deserved some kind of announcement upfront that they were shutting it all down. Loyal fans deserve better. I've been following the site for fifteen years, and to see it going down the toilet like this is infuriating :angryfire

I agree completely. It would have been respectful to the site fans to give a closing date and some final thoughts rather than the dismissive maintenance statement. The whole thing comes off as an F...U to loyal visitors of the site, and we are left wondering why anyone would want anything to end in this manner.

Yes, I'm also mad and saddened by the loss of the release date archives. I enjoyed "stepping back in time" and looking at what shows were released when. So I'm angry about this, grateful that the site existed in the first place, and just sad that it's gone now.

I was disappointed by the news of TVShowsOnDVD.com shutting down. It was really the best website around to find out all the latest DVD releases and information. The Login ID (E-Mail Address) was used for certain things. I had registered on the website so I did have a Login ID (E-Mail Address). The Login ID (E-Mail Address) was used for the website to send you e-mails regarding DVD releases and information of TV Shows you were interested in. On the website after you log in, there were options where you could request TV Shows you would like see get released on DVD and then they would send you an e-mail when that show would be getting released on DVD. You could also contact Gord or David by e-mail (in charge of the site) if you had any questions for them about TV Shows. For Non-Users of the site, they would have to go to the web site to read all the DVD news and information if they weren't registered on the site to receive e-mails. Now with the website being shut down and offline, we have to check on Facebook, Twitter, and Social Media for DVD releases and information.
