Damon Wayans and Clayne Crawford have allegedly hated each other since the end of last season. Damon has top billing, but Clayne feels like he's the breakout star. Indications (https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/8iucm0/hey_fox_just_go_ahead_and_cancel_lethal_weapon/dyvlvfs/) are that at that point Wayans said it was 'him or me', and the studio backed Wayans.

Instead, he wastes everyone's time by figuring out his delivery over more takes than should be necessary.

Just grab two cans and a string and just be like, 'You're not coming back. We feel like this is the Damon Wayans Show and people just don't like you. So go the f*ck back to Alabama you dumb hick, thanks for playing.'" Crawford said that when news of his on-set clashes first broke, Warner Bros.
