In just saw an episode from the LOGO channel that aired in November 1986 & a few days ago saw one from October 1986. Ted Knight died on 8/26/1986!

It's creepy to think NEW episodes aired with Ted Knight laughing & happy AFTER he was already DEAD!

I was wondering if the promos made any mention of Ted's passing. "Ya Gotta Have Heart" (http://www.tv.com/shows/too-close-for-comfort/ya-gotta-have-heart-194629/) was the first episode to air after his death in August 1986. Apparently, before the very last episode (http://www.tv.com/shows/too-close-for-comfort/lisa-goes-lottery-loco-194636/) was aired, Nancy Dussault while looking at the camera, delivered a brief tribute to Ted Knight. This has unfortunately, not been seen since its initial broadcast back in February 1987.

Are you sure that creepy is the right word? I know that everyone is different, but I have never felt creepy watching anything when I knew the actor had passed away. I would feel maybe sad or nostalgic, myself.

But how many times have NEW episodes run when the actor was ALREADY dead? In this case it was 10 NEW episodes that ran AFTER Knight's death! That's got to be pretty rare.

I remember when John Ritter died he was only in the first 1 or 2 episodes of season 2 & I think they already aired before he died.

I'm confused about the scheduling (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Too_Close_for_Comfort_episodes) for Too Close for Comfort once it started it started its stint in first-run syndication. Basically, the show unlike when it was on ABC for the first three years, never operated under the standard September to May schedule. Instead, Season 4 premiered in April 1984 and ran until December of that year.

Season 5 premiered only two months after the end of the last one and ran through November 1985. There was however a one month gap in-between new episodes from the end of May to until the end of July. Some episodes, including the infamous "For Every Man, There's Two Women" episode, were actually produced for Season 4.

The first twelve episodes for the final season (which originally ran as The Ted Knight Show), ran from early April to late July 1986. The final ten episodes (which premiered after Ted Knight passed away in August 1986) aired from September until February 1987. And the second to last episode first aired on January 31.
