This just started yesterday, could be from a new ad but those don't usually have audio. I don't want to have to adjust my computer volume for posting and reading threads here, am used to just text on this site.

This has happened to me several times throughout the week. I believe it is an ad.

Do you have Firefox? I imagine this trick would work similarly on other browsers though. At the top of a tab that plays sounds you should see this speaker symbol:

Just click on it and all sound coming from that tab will be muted.

I use Adblock Plus, no ads to be bothered by.

Im on MyIE2 (IE6) and I can only mute globally.... (If I click mute,all tabs are muted)

On MyIE2 under "Download Control" I have an option called LOAD SOUNDS and if I uncheck that on a certain tab I wonder if it would mute the 1 tab? (I havent ever done it)

I just checked MyIE2 help page and it doesnt say anything of it.......
