I'd say you got the best ones. I totally agree. I just wait for that episode when Peggy stands up Andy with the visiting Don. Barney brings over Thelma Lou and Lydia and Barney bends over backwards to get her and Andy together with little progress. My favorite is how Lydia acts about the herpes, hating the guitar and hating chit chat.

Doesn't Barney comment on how big Andy's hand is and places it in lydias. I think every word lydia utters is classic.

How about when Gomer yelled "Citizens Arrest" at Barney? Or when Gomer is staying at Andy's and he starts singing?

You read my mind. I was just going to post about this! The "citizen's arrest" episode is one of my favorite episodes!

Can you imagine someone so lame that they have no idea you don’t vacuum at 11pm, saw wood or sing at the top of your lungs when invited to a home.

Any time Briscoe Darling opened his mouth I cracked up. Great actor great character.

You're right about Miss Lydia. Particularly the second episode--every line great...

Training Ernest T. to greet Mrs. Wiley...priceless.

Romona(Jackie Joseph) is another looker. She's funny in Dick Van Dyke show appearances.

Even when I was a kid watching tags I pondered, would I go out with Lydia or Ramona weighing their beauty against how squirrelly they were? The answer then and now is hell yes.

When Andy has a sprained wrist from falling in Meyers lake in "warrens vision" or whatever it's called. Warren goes to help Andy by cutting his meat at the diner. Warren clumsily knocks Andy's plate of food on Andy's lap.

In "cousin Virgil" virgil tucks the table cloth in his clothes, gets up and again the meal in Andy's lap.

In "Opie and the canrival" goober misses targets at the shooting gallery. He asks Helen to inspect his eyes because she's a teacher.

When Howard is shadowing Andy because he's afraid of bully Clyde(hottie millies ex).

Helen being the only girl at Howard's bash and dancing til she drops.

Howard's all disoriented ,unshaven, and a big mess asking in his dream" wanta buy a ship in a bottle?"

When Andy finds Malcolm Merriweather and tells him Opie is eating eggs with no faces and a sheriff has to tie his own tie and then tells him to get back to the house and uses his own cockney lingo (I want the whole lot to be a regular Bobby dazzler) with a great big Andy grin.

There are so many ones, but I will list some of my favorites.

"Barney and the Choir" when Andy keeps telling Barney to lower his voice until he is silent. It is also fun to watch the other cast members during this scene. Then, Barney's face when the other guy slips out and sings into the mike backstage...priceless.

"Andy and Barney in the Big City" when Barney smugly points to items on the menu and finds out he ordered snails and brains.

"Barney's Motorcycle" when he tells Andy when riding with your tongue pressed up in the roof of your mouth that you can't pronounce a word that begins with the letter, "S." Also, when he tries to take Andy for a ride and the side car stays behind.

"Convicts at Large" with Floyd eating that banana and having the time of his life. Also, when Barney tries to dance Big Maude out of the door."

"The Shoplifters" when Barney and Ben Weaver are both in the store at night and think the the other one is the crook. Asa sleeping through the entire fiasco.

Brisco referring to Ernest T. Bass and saying the thought about killing him, but kinda hated to go that far. And, the time Brisco said he was nervous about wearing a tie after seeing a hanging.

Opie telling about the "flower making machine" that the Morrison sisters have and Otis cringing at the thought.

So many more . . .

Ben Weaver and Barney at Weaver's late night is in my top 5 and I omitted it. Ben tells sleeping asa "there was enough noise in here to wake the dead". Also, in the scene, Barney battling the cash register and the bozo doll. The startled looks on scared Barneys face are classic.

Yes, Barney and Bozo and the cash register are hilarious. Love how Asa pops back with " I didn't sleep through the whole thing, I got up" and "what more do you want, I'm up now..."

It was also fun to check out the toy boxes. I remember when "Clancy the Great Skating Monkey" and "Gaylord" the walking dog were advertised on TV when I was a kid.

When Barney refers to Aunt Bee's pickles as kerosene cucumbers. I know it's coming and I still laugh.

Gomer staring at the prisoner who just entered the cell, I believe this time played by Allan Melvin: "BOO!" Anytime Gomer is deputized, the results are funny.

Another episode, among the citizens deputized by Barney is the character played by Burt Mustin. Barney can't find someone a little younger? Some of the funnier Don Knotts scenes are when he has them lined up for inspection.

Another scene that always cracks me up: Andy helping Barney along as he tries to recite the Preamble to the US Constitution from memory. That messed-up hair!

I highly recommend Jackie's episodes of The Doris Day Show. Really hot.:)

In "Otis, the artist" when Otis gifts his finished tile mosaic picture to the Taylors. He comes to their home and unveils it. It's a pastoral setting of a cow. And Warren puts on the living room mantle. I've seen it many times, but still funny. Good goof in the scene too when Aunt Bea calls Opie Andy.

Still can’t find the part when Aunt Bea calls Opie Andy.

I love in the one when that woman tries to get Barney on a breach of promise arrest, Andy starts the ceremony and she is shocked. Says she would never marry a squirt like him. At the end Andy tells Barney he didn’t know they were already married but could not figure out why a pretty, sophisticated woman (not verbatim)

would want to marry a squirt like you.

I could of swore I heard it plain as day at 17:35. But now Opie and Aunt Bea both talk when she says the name. I looked at imdb and other people noticed it. Now not so sure now or different edited versions.
