View Full Version : Who Was the Nastiest Boss? howilu 02-05-2018, 11:06 AM Who was the nastiest sitcom boss? Was it Mel Sharples on Alice or Louie DePalma on Taxi? Chocolate Moose 02-05-2018, 12:26 PM Louie, for sure. Svenfan1234 02-05-2018, 12:35 PM Mel. Louie at least had a heart at times. Sal 02-05-2018, 08:41 PM I'm going to go off the board and say Milburn Drysdale of the Beverly Hillbillies. He might have been the closest thing to Scrooge that ever existed on TV. 70s show watcher 02-05-2018, 08:52 PM i voted for louie mel deep down had a good heart but louie was a jerk through and through 70s show watcher 02-05-2018, 08:52 PM i voted for louie mel deep down had a good heart but louie was a jerk through and through Edward216 02-05-2018, 09:02 PM Louie DePalma absolutely. He was the most disgusting, selfish, lewd, crude, thoughtless, hateful boss ever. Ed. factsoflife 02-05-2018, 10:40 PM Michael Scott from The Office comes to mind. Becca3557 02-06-2018, 07:51 PM Louie for sure IMHO. He was a real jerk. Wawwie 02-06-2018, 08:35 PM Michael Scott from The Office comes to mind. Michael Scott was an idiot, sure, but he was not mean ever. I don't understand your logic. The thread is about MEAN/NASTY bosses. Michael was just dumb and incompetent. Nothing about him was mean. Yong Fang 02-09-2018, 12:25 AM Lou Grant comes to mind. Lou was angry to pissed off often, prone to fits and was a borderline alcoholic. Even physically assaulted one of his employees (Ted Baxter) in a rage. Actually a good guy inside, but WJM nearly gave him a heart attack. Have another drink Lou, ever thought about moving to California and being a newspaper editor? Yong Fang 02-09-2018, 12:25 AM Boogie Boogie. 70s show watcher 02-09-2018, 12:27 AM Michael Scott was an idiot, sure, but he was not mean ever. I don't understand your logic. The thread is about MEAN/NASTY bosses. Michael was just dumb and incompetent. Nothing about him was mean.i agree he was not mean in the least BigManMike 02-09-2018, 07:41 AM What about Mr. Angelino on Three’s Company? Wawwie 02-11-2018, 01:24 PM What about Mr. Angelino on Three’s Company? Mr. Angelino was a horrible boss.... so mean to Jack for no reason. He was also unfair to Felipe. 70s show watcher 02-11-2018, 07:48 PM Mr. Angelino was a horrible boss.... so mean to Jack for no reason. He was also unfair to Felipe.i agree he was a total jerk Sterling Holobyte 02-11-2018, 09:58 PM Louie was pure evil. TV Guy 02-11-2018, 10:49 PM Mr. Angelino was a HUGE jerk. He makes the Gale Gordon character, from the various Lucy Shows, look like an angel. KentB3 02-11-2018, 11:31 PM I'm surprised no one mentioned Mr. Burns from The Simpsons. He is meaner than all of these bosses mentioned put together! stevea 02-12-2018, 10:24 AM Since some are adding different names, I'll add Larry Tate on Bewitched. factsoflife 02-13-2018, 10:39 PM If you include bosses from drama series in addition to sitcoms I'd add Amanda Woodward from "Melrose Place"; she was like the boss from hell. She was constantly putting Allison down, screaming at her, getting into verbal spars; making threats and humiliating her employees. TV Guy 02-17-2018, 10:40 AM Amanda was TERRIBLE as a bos, haha. Not sure I agree about Larry Tate being nasty. He often threw Darrin under the bus with clients and I wouldn’t have wanted to work for him. But Darrin seemed to like him and was friends with him outside of work. KatieAnn 02-17-2018, 07:16 PM Michael Scott was an idiot, sure, but he was not mean ever. I don't understand your logic. The thread is about MEAN/NASTY bosses. Michael was just dumb and incompetent. Nothing about him was mean. Louie was the character who came to mind before I saw the options for this poll, but I do think Michael could be mean and nasty to certain employees, Tobey in particular and also Meredith and Dwight. I wouldn't say that nothing about him was mean, but I would agree that he was dumb and incompetent. There were plenty of times when Michael meant to be nasty to his employees, the ones that he didn't think were "cool" enough or attractive enough. Wawwie 02-17-2018, 09:07 PM Louie was the character who came to mind before I saw the options for this poll, but I do think Michael could be mean and nasty to certain employees, Tobey in particular Michael was not Toby's boss. Toby was HR. KatieAnn 02-17-2018, 10:15 PM Michael was not Toby's boss. Toby was HR. Yes, I remember that, and while Michael didn't have authority over Tobey he still treated him terribly. As the boss of that location, Michael should have been respectful of everyone. I would say he was respectful of the people he wanted to like him, but come to think of it he had no respect for anyone at all. |
