In the same episode of Cheers where I found Fred Dryer I discovered that it also guest starred Harry Anderson as Harry The Hat Gittes. And I noticed that Harry was dressed in a salesman's outfit and so it tells me that Harry Anderson's character was a salesman who would occasionally stop at Cheers to try to sell items throughout the show's run
Was Harry Anderson originally gonna be a permanent actor on Cheers but dropped it when Night Court debuted?

Nope. He was a conman actually. On his first appearance, Coach wouldn't give him beer because he was considered a flimflammer.

His last appearance was in the episode How Do I Love Thee, Let Me Call You Back because he did Night Court after that and didn't return until A Kiss Is Still A Kiss.
