View Full Version : Which TV father would you like to have?
counrfk 11-06-2017, 05:00 PM State which TV father you would like to have, and tell why. Only name your top choice.
I would love to have Jack Arnold from "The Wonder Years" as my father. He never makes the list when they do best TV fathers, but that's probably because he was so realistic and not all sugary-sweet like a lot of TV fathers. Jack loved his family, was a good provider, and was always there for his kids. He wasn't perfect. He could be grumpy. But, he was a good man. I think he was a great father, especially if you were a girl. I loved the relationship between him and his daughter Karen. They clashed simply because they believed in different things, but they always made up in the end. I agree with Jack on most issues so he and I wouldn't clash near as much. I have a terrible relationship with my own father. I hate him. He has emotionally and mentally abused me my entire life. I would kill to have a father as good as Jack Arnold.
mets82 11-06-2017, 05:11 PM Jack Arnold is the last on my list. He was always grumpy and mad all the time.
TV Father I'd like to have is Howard Cunningham from Happy Days.

He's last on most lists, LOL, but I liked him a lot. I think he would be a great dad to have.

mikey0581 11-07-2017, 02:26 AM i think Steven Douglas or Ward cleaver would of been cool, mainly because it would of been cool to live in that era, everything seem so carefree and people actually talk to people.
Martin Crane from Frasier.

Fleet 11-24-2017, 09:57 PM Hard to pick only one.
Jed Clampett (Beverly Hillbillies). Easygoing.
Ben Cartwright (Bonanza). Relatively easygoing and fair.
Howard Cunningham (Happy Days). Relatively easygoing.
Herman Munster. (The Munsters). Easygoing and likes spooky houses.
MISST3 11-28-2017, 07:37 PM I have to say Ward Cleaver. Strong, supportive and wise, he made it seem, that no matter what the problem, he would be there to walk you right thru it.
stevea 11-28-2017, 08:41 PM I immediately thought of Ward Cleaver, also. He would have been a little too strict for me, though.
Having Tim the Tool Man as a dad would have been really fun, assuming he survived all his accidents.
A fun thread would be, who would you really NOT want. At the top of my list for that would be Frank Barone.
Bonniegirl 11-28-2017, 10:58 PM I've been watching Cozi TV for the last couple of hours and two men who were wonderful Fathers and I would love for them to be my Dad are Charles (Pa) Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie and Herman Munster !:)
Jim Anderson (Father Knows Best) seemed liked a nice dad.
And Red Forman from That '70's Show would have been a funny dad to have. I always thought him & Kitty were cool parents.
