Yes I realize these changes come only a couple weeks after the changes posted in the other thread, but this is apparently the official fall schedule, so I decided to make another thread. (Mods, you can merge this with the other one if you see fit)

This is all effective September 4th.

Wagon Train comes to weekdays, Happy Days comes to weeknights replacing ALF which moves to Sunday mornings. The Saturday night lineup is jumbled a little, putting Svengoolie on in prime time. Sundays are shuffled a bit too with the addition of Facts of Life, The Lucy Show, Mama's Family and Touched by an Angel.

NEW/RETURNING SHOWS: Happy Days, Highway Patrol, The Lucy Show, Touched By an Angel, The Fugitive, The Untouchables, Peter Gunn

LEAVING SHOWS: Our Miss Brooks, Rhoda, Love American Style, Kolchak the Night Stalker, Sledge Hammer, Car 54 Where Are You, The Phil Silvers Show, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour

The addition of Highway Patrol is interesting. Too bad they are sticking with Hogan...obviously it's working for them.

Mama's Family has evidently worked at 9 pm. Too bad about ALF (I know many were glad to see that added), but at least it wasn't totally removed. Same for Petticoat Junction.

I definitely like Sunday afternoons (which must have been a bust on Summer of Me).

One more comment: do we really need more westerns in the afternoon? I guess they think so!

08-10-2017, 07:04 PM
Saturday mornings are good but too early and Saturday afternoons are crap as always. Glad to see Facts of Life on Sunday afternoons and also glad to see Touched by an Angel Sunday nights.

08-10-2017, 07:06 PM
Touched by an Angel is a good show but why couldn't they find another slot for it and move Last Laughs up an hour.

I like that Mama's Family & Facts of Life are on Sundays now.

Poor ALF got the shaft.

Wagon Train on weekdays...ugh...another western.

MASH & Hogan's Heroes still hangin on like a bad hangnail. These need to go or at least be put at another time.

stevea
08-10-2017, 07:26 PM
Yeah I forgot to complain about MASH--it's overstayed its welcome even more than Hogan.

snowpeck
08-10-2017, 07:47 PM
I definitely like Sunday afternoons (which must have been a bust on Summer of Me), but don't we get enough Lucy during the week?

Unless you're talking about other channels, Lucy won't be on during the week anymore.

MrsAndyTaylor
08-10-2017, 08:08 PM
More westerns? I'll keep switching over to Designing Women at 11 on a different channel and watching two hours of that after Matlock.

I'm also sick of Hogan's Heroes but I'm getting my teens into MASH, so I'm happy it's staying.

PhoenixAcres
08-10-2017, 08:19 PM
Why on earth:

* are they keeping their massive Westerns block on at 12 PM? Gunsmoke and Bonanza especially have been in that same spot since forever.

* are they keeping the MASH eternally at 7:00 PM?

* are they still wasting precious primetime slots by running two Hogan's Heroes at 10?

* do they still wait until 11 PM on Sundays to start their sitcom block??

Most of my complaints are about what they HAVEN'T changed rather than what they have. It's really starting to get old. They could use a big schedule overhaul.

stevea
08-10-2017, 08:39 PM
Unless you're talking about other channels, Lucy won't be on during the week anymore.

Right. I was so used to it being there, I didn't notice it wasn't. So they ditched the Bradys, before Summer of Me, at 7 am, and now it work at 6:30 am???

storrs19
08-10-2017, 09:26 PM
I'm sick of MASH and Hogan's Hereoes but they obviously draw the ratings so I guess that's why they stay. I'll miss shows like Our Miss Brooks, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, and Mayberry RFD as they're not available on DVD. For my tastes it's not an improvement at all.

tlc38tlc38
08-10-2017, 09:32 PM
I'll probably watch:

Weekdays:
6pm: Hawaii Five-0
8-9pm: Gomer Pyle
9pm: Mama'a Family
9:30pm: Happy Days
11pm: Carol Burnett

Saturday: nothing

Sunday:
The Brady Bunch Brunch
2-3pm: Facts of Life
3-4pm: Mama's Family

If I'm up early, I'll also watch "Beverly Hillbillies", "Leave It to Beaver", "Petticoat Junction", & "ALF" when they air.

Svenfan1234
08-10-2017, 10:16 PM
I watch "Svengoolie", of course, on Saturdays.

I wish that " Remington Steele" was there instead of "Diagnosis Murder".

At this point, I'm about done with MeTV. The constant reruns of Hogan's Heroes and MASH, the fact that Saturdays ain't nuttin' but westerns, and now Alf at 6AM on Sundays?! Yeah, I'm done. The kissing of Hogan's Heroes' ass was tolerable I guess, but you put Alf on at a time when I'm not even up, you done gone too far, y'all ain't getting my viewing no more.
When it comes to classic TV, I'm going with Antenna now. Their schedule has much more variety and they don't kiss any show's ass like MeTV does with Hogan's Homos.

I love all the westerns, except I would like to see Rifleman removed, it's long overstayed it's welcome. How about for a real great change Joel McCrea's western series Wichita Town, now that's one I love to see take Rifleman's place. The b/w 1/2 hour Gunsmokes were only the best western TV series ever. Anyone complaining must have only seen the color Gunsmokes and base their opinion on those God awful color episodes.

I stopped watching Hogans Heroes and MASH decades ago, can't stand those 2 series. Why ME TV seems to have given it a permanent positions on their channel is beyond me.

Love Highway Patrol coming and would really like it if they showed the colorized versions of Peter Gunn episodes instead of the b/w ones.

I'm really glad they are keeping My Three Sons on the fall schedule, I thought i was just a summer thing. I'm really getting into the earlier seasons, I haven't seen them in years.

I'm glad their adding Highway Patrol, I watch it on Heroes and Icons channel. I like that they are re-adding The Lucy Show. I would like them to do what Nick At Nite used to do and add The Lucy and Desi Comedy Hour and have a two hour block of the shows on a Saturday or Sunday nite.

I thought they were supposed to re-add Green Acres, Dragnet and Adam-12 this year? Is that still the plan?

Yes! Antenna never treated it properly!I disagree. Green Acres was not in primetime but it still got decent slots compared to a lot of shows, is moving to the 2PM hour in September and has been on weekday afternoons other times. Considering Petticoat Junction, Family Affair, and The Facts of Life were stuck with lousy early morning slots and just one episode on Me-TV, they likely would have had better exposure on Antenna.

Just because Antenna says it on Facebook, doesn't make it so. I'll believe it when I see it. I really doubt MeTV would have taken the series if they didn't make a fairly long term deal for it.

I'd bet Antenna has some sour grapes over the deal. I'm sure they thought they had an exclusive deal with Sony (or the exclusive deal expired).

The Facts of Life is coming to Antenna next year.

From antenntatv Facebook from June 10 they said facts of life was on it wish list

Just because Antenna says it on Facebook, doesn't make it so. I'll believe it when I see it. I really doubt MeTV would have taken the series if they didn't make a fairly long term deal for it.

Or they may have had the rights for a while and they're just now airing it while they still can. Besides, look at how long Me-TV had Patty Duke last year before it went right back to Antenna. Not even a full year. Same with Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie, only aired them for less than a year before Antenna got them. So it's still possible.

Isn't Facts Of Life on MeTV right now? Then why is the show getting moved to Antenna next year then?

It's possible Antenna already had a deal with Sony for the rights starting next year, and Me-TV only has a 1 year contract.

^Could be...we'll see! They (MeTV) may have just needed some temp. filler at 6am, once they lost the rights to Mr. Ed., and while waiting for the rights to Green Acres.

I would much rather it be on MeTV since they don't crunch credits. It would be even better if It can be shared with Decades so they could have a weekend binge marathon of it.

It's become rare for Decades to put a sitcom on their weekend binge. Lately it's been all dramas: Mission Impossible, Kung Fu, Ironside (twice in a row), and Cheyenne.

They had some good marathons back in June with My Three Sons, Gomer Pyle, and Get Smart. But your right, lately all they've shown are these lousy dramas and it seems many of these have been done many times before. I just wish they would show more sitcoms on the binges and less dramas.

Oh. so you're saying the only ones who they should cater too are fans of sitcoms while fans of dramas should be ignored by them and you think me-tv & decades should stop catering to both sides in favor of sitcom only fans.

I see how that is.

Decades has also had The Doris Day Show, I Love Lucy, and The Lucy Show on past weekend binges. Even Celebrity Bowling...!

For anyone supportive of so many drama weekends in recent months, just one question: Why is it that Ironside gets 2 weekends in a row, while Decades would never do that for a sitcom? Even though they have many seasons of some sitcoms available to run?

We're not looking to stop the fun of drama fans. But this IS the "Sitcoms Online" site! Bring on at least some sitcom binges!:) Throw us a bone!

MeTV has gone pretty heavy on dramas as well. TJ Hooker has a pretty nice timeslot...

Yea I get it too. If a local channel carries the Andy Griffith Show then ME-TV sends another show to your local affiliate to air. It has been Mayberry RFD but now they changed it to Gomer Pyle. So we get it every weeknight at 8.

What is it with both stations having the rights to Cheers airing it as little as possible? It was one of the longest running sitcoms with 11 seasons but gets 1 solitary airing a week on Me-TV and Hallmark only gives it an hour a day buried at 4AM. Both those stations should lose the rights and they should go to channels that would actually use them.

This is all effective September 4th.

Wagon Train comes to weekdays, Happy Days comes to weeknights replacing ALF which moves to Sunday mornings. The Saturday night lineup is jumbled a little, putting Svengoolie on in prime time. NEW/RETURNING SHOWS: Happy Days, Highway Patrol, The Lucy Show, Touched By an Angel, The Fugitive, The Untouchables, Peter Gunn

He's just angry about the WBK marathon starting at 5 in the morning...

I love a bunch of shows on Me -- Matlock, TJ Hooker, Hawaii Five O, Mama's Family, ALF, The Facts of Life, Leave it to Beaver, My Three Sons, Svengoolie, Petticoat Junction, etc. -- but I wish the westerns, M*A*S*H and Hogan's Heroes would go away. Enough is enough. I like MASH okay, but why not add new sitcoms like Perfect Strangers, Too Close for Comfort, or It's a Living? I also really wish they'd add St. Elsewhere. Also, I wish they'd add WKRP and maybe even Lou Grant.

And I agree with the people who wish Rhoda and Love American Style would return. I also wish Bosom Buddies and Remington Steele would return .

Definitely should Too Close for Comfort and WKRP. Maybe Charles in Charge as well.

Since they seem to devote 5/5:30 am to "really old" sitcoms, I'd like to see Bachelor Father come back sometime. This time, unlike Antenna TV, maybe they could fork over a little more money and get all (or more) of the episodes.

It was on Antenna, and if anybody were to get it again,it'd be them.

Wish Comcast can make a last minute change to delete Me-TV from my lineup:lol:I would gladly take your Me-TV station off your hands, Fort Wayne might never get an affiliate for it.

don't say that, Sol!! LOL

I'd be REALLY, REALLY, REALLY ANGRY if Comcast took off ME TV. If they'd take off ANTENNA TV I wouldn't mind though.

it was 20012, I remember because that was the year I had a stroke and I remember watching it while I was in a nursing home/rehab center recovering. It was on Sunday nights paired with WKRP IN CINCINATTI.

speaking of really old shows, I would love to see Adventures of Ozzy and Harriet, i never saw the show and would be interested to watch it.With 435 episodes and 14 seasons I would think Ozzie and Harriet would be syndicated a lot more, that makes it the longest running live-action sitcom in history. The only time I have seen it on TV since I got cable over a decade ago was on ION back when they aired a lot of infomercials. And those were fluke airings, paid programming was listed at 11:30 AM and 11:00 PM where Ozzie and Harriet actually was. The Beverly Hillbillies also aired at 11AM and I Married Joan aired some place where infomercials where listed.
