View Full Version : They did it AGAIN... UncleJesse81 07-17-2017, 11:53 PM Antenna TV has taken off Mr Belvedere on Mon-Sat and apparently will only be on Sunday. Gee golly thanks for letting it be on once a week! 👍 Bonniegirl 07-18-2017, 12:08 AM Antenna TV has taken off Mr Belvedere on Mon-Sat and apparently will only be on Sunday. Gee golly thanks for letting it be on once a week! 👍 Yeah!! That s*cks! :( Mr. Belvedere is a really good show that only has been on Antenna a couple of years! It should play a lot more than it does!!! ;) Like my One day at a time. That only was on Antenna less than two years and they totally took it off, :( and now just put it back on, but only two eps on Sunday! It's better than nothing, but still! UncleJesse81 07-18-2017, 12:26 AM At least ODAT is on Logo as well. I'm mainly upset cause "for whatever reason" the last 2 seasons of Mr Belvedere aren't on DVD and I doubt ever will be. Mace Dolex 07-18-2017, 12:44 AM Yeah I'm upset too and yet Antenna TV prefers to air double episodes of Evening Shade and Dear John, two shows that arent even popular enough to have a cult following. Bonniegirl 07-18-2017, 12:50 AM Yeah I'm upset too and yet Antenna TV prefers to air double episodes of Evening Shade and Dear John, two shows that arent even popular enough to have a cult following. Yeah!! And Becker too which isn't even an old show, as was discussed in another thread! Dear John at least is pretty funny,;) Evening shade and Becker are NOT IMO!!:( UncleJesse81 07-18-2017, 01:42 AM I hate Ted Danson's guts now lol. IMO half of the weekly shows are crap, while a great like Mr B gets the shaft. Torgo 07-18-2017, 08:49 AM Yeah!! And Becker too which isn't even an old show, as was discussed in another thread! Dear John at least is pretty funny,;) Evening shade and Becker are NOT IMO!!:( I like Dear John and Evening Shade, I can take Becker in small doses. Never say never. I had a good friend tell me that Rhoda and Mr. Belvedere sold poorly and it was thought they would never see completion, but Shout Factory has now released all 5 seasons of Rhoda. So, if Shout put out the entire series of Rhoda, maybe now they'll take a look at Mr. Belvedere and give those last 2 seasons a go? You never know. I encourage everyone here to email Shout Factory (https://www.shoutfactory.com/contact) with your support for releasing the remaining 2 seasons (5 and 6) of Mr. Belvedere. Be encouraging, but also please be polite---remember, we want them to want to release them for us. :) UncleJesse81 07-18-2017, 05:59 PM I got this reply from Shout... I can't figure out how to attach a pic but they said the issue is the licenser, not them. glickmam 07-21-2017, 05:24 PM I got this reply from Shout... I can't figure out how to attach a pic but they said the issue is the licenser, not them. Indeed, Shout! Factory can only do so much. At the end of the day, the final decision regarding Mr. Belvedere's final two seasons on DVD ultimately rests with 20th Century Fox. MA 07-21-2017, 07:25 PM I need to contact LAFF by the way and ask them why they are now doing marathons and removing shows. BigManMike 07-21-2017, 10:43 PM I need to contact LAFF by the way and ask them why they are now doing marathons and removing shows. I'm not a huge fan of the marathons but I much prefer Laff over Antenna because they don't crunch credits. I just wish they would get some better shows. The only one I really watch on there is Empty Nest. '80sSitcoms 07-22-2017, 08:25 AM Indeed, Shout! Factory can only do so much. Evening Shade has never been on the weekday lineup, has been kept to weekends. I would say the 4PM hour for Mr. Belvedere is a better deal than the midnight hour for Evening Shade. The Norman Lear shows and Three's Company are what need greatly reduced, they have hogged all the good spots for way too long. glickmam 08-01-2017, 09:03 PM What's your service? MA 09-18-2017, 01:40 PM With your being a big fan of Night Court I would think you would like it being on so much. I do, but the show gets really overplayed on LAFF though. Pearly Soames 10-04-2017, 10:01 AM I do, but the show gets really overplayed on LAFF though. Can't say as I agree. No such thing as too much NIGHT COURT, and I'm glad there's at least ONE network on the air that properly appreciates it. :D Wish I could say the same thing for NEWHART, but hope springs eternal, I suppose. ;) I agree with the sentiments expressed by most here about AntennaTV, though. They really sh*t in my sugarbowl when they changed their lineup last July. I had really gotten used to the two episodes of NEWHART from 1 to 2, then a classic Johnny Carson episode, followed by two episodes of WHAT'S HAPPENING? and then two episodes of MR. BELVEDERE. Why mess with perfection? When I first started watching MR. BELVEDERE on AntennaTV, it really blew my mind. I had watched a few episodes of the show as a kid, when it originally aired, but had been under the impression that it was only on for a couple of seasons. At any rate, I lost interest in it around late winter-early spring of 1986, and kinda forgot about it, after that point. There may've been a time slot change involved, too. I really can't remember. I just remember that, for the first couple of seasons, it came on Friday nights. But, from what I saw, watching it on AntennaTV for about six months, I'm assuming it must've lasted right up to about 1990 or so. (Was somewhat amused by the Bush-Dukakis references in one episode. ) The ones that I remembered from back in the day were the one where Wesley didn't get invited to the popular kid's party, so Belvedere and his parents threw a party for him and invited all the nerdy/weird kids, the one where Kevin was playing drums in this goofy band and they made him bark during "How Much Is That Doggie In The Window", the one where Kevin was dating the Amish chick, the one where Kevin got a speeding ticket and his Mom defended him in court, and the one where George decided to quit his job as a sportswriter and pursue a singing career, even though he couldn't really sing. That last one had a special appearance by Robert Goulet, as did another one, where Belvedere went to Atlantic City, looking for Heather. I always thought the actress that played Marsha was really hot. Fun fact: Like the Mom on ALF, she got her start on THREE'S COMPANY. MRPITT 10-04-2017, 03:37 PM Like the Mom on ALF, she got her start on THREE'S COMPANY. Huh Anne Schedeen was on Three's Company, but by no means was that where she got her start. She had over 25 credits including regular appearances on Marcus Welby and Emergency before appearing on Threes Company. And neither did Ilene Graff she had been on quite a few things and was a regular on Lewis And Clark before appearing on Threes Company. MA 10-04-2017, 03:49 PM Can't say as I agree. I'm vaguely aware of the show, LEWIS AND CLARK, but I never actually saw an episode. As for MARCUS WELBY and EMERGENCY, I always make it a point to change the channel when those shows come on. ;) Aside from THE TWILIGHT ZONE and PERRY MASON, I never much cared for televised drama. I'm all about sitcoms, C-SPAN and The History Channel. At any rate, I knew THREE'S COMPANY was before MR. In addition to Lewis and Clark, Ms. Graff was also a regular on the infamous NBC flop Supertrain, where her co-stars included Harrison Page, later to play Captain Trunk on Sledge Hammer!, which would become involved in a very notorious feud with Mr. Belvedere. Amusingly, both Mr. Belvedere and Sledge Hammer! are now actually sister properties due to 20th Century Fox's then parent company, News Corporation, buying out Sledge Hammer!'s production company, New World Television. um 10-08-2017, 09:11 PM I'm vaguely aware of the show, LEWIS AND CLARK, but I never actually saw an episode.
