View Full Version : Batman Star Adam West 1928-2017 Penny Lane 06-10-2017, 06:40 PM Actor Adam West has died. :( http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/adam-west-dead-batman-star-832264 ABlairican Pie 06-10-2017, 07:13 PM He was our hero in the 60's. When we were four or five, our lives revolved around that time slot twice a week when Batman and Robin were out to do battle with The Joker, The Penguin, Catwoman, and The Riddler. He inspired so many of us to take up careers in crime fighting and driving awesome cars while dressed in nifty capes and masks. :batman: Regulus 06-10-2017, 08:41 PM :rip: Adam West. I guess they'll place the Batcorpse in the Batcasket, which will be placed in the Bathearse, from whence will be driven to the Batcemetary, where the late Adam West will be laid to rest in the Battomb. (Sorry, I just I jist HAD to do this!, no harm intended!) MA 06-10-2017, 08:43 PM There's already a thread for this. PhoenixAcres 06-10-2017, 09:05 PM There's already a thread for this. When a really big actor dies, it's okay to have multiple threads, usually on their show's forum and on the Chit Chat forum. The same thing was done when Mary Tyler Moore died. Penny Lane 06-10-2017, 09:13 PM There's already a thread for this. I didn't find another thread on this Somehow I missed it. I just found out today about his death. Oh well.:) Edison 06-10-2017, 09:32 PM Never missed an episode. Quite a character. Batman, too, of course. Lee 06-10-2017, 10:44 PM Rest in peace, caped crusader Penny Lane 06-10-2017, 11:14 PM The Batman dance I love this! 80sTrivia 06-11-2017, 05:49 AM Goodbye, Mr. West... :( :( :( MA 06-11-2017, 06:39 AM I didn't find another thread on this Somehow I missed it. Oh. I didn't know this and I apologize. Penny Lane 06-11-2017, 02:03 PM Ok, I'm curious. Where was this news first posted? Before I posted mine I looked at all of the obvious places and there is no Batman forum. I didn't see it on Chit Chat . Had it been pushed off yesterday's forum? And yes, it is normal to have multiple posts on a famous person. Bur if I see one I usually won't start a new thread. Penny Lane 06-11-2017, 02:10 PM Not meaning to belabor the subject but I did a search and found the original thread by Zoneboy. It was posted on the Classic dramas/dramadies forum! I would never had looked there as I always considered Batman a sitcom. No wonder I couldn't find it! Furienna 06-11-2017, 04:34 PM It is not until now that I realized that Adam West had Swedish ancestry. RIP. Marvo301 06-11-2017, 05:05 PM Good-bye old chum! RIP Adam West Regulus 06-11-2017, 05:46 PM I understand Robin, Batgirl, Superman, Spiderman, Captain America and Iron Man will be pallbearers at the Bat Funeral. :rip: ABlairican Pie 06-11-2017, 06:21 PM Goodbat Nightman --by Roger McGough God bless all policemen and fighters of crime, May thieves go to jail for a very long time. They've had a hard day helping clean up the town, Now they hang from the mantelpiece both upside down. A glass of warm blood and then straight up the stairs, Batman and Robin are saying their prayers. * * * They've locked all the doors and they've put out the bat, Put on their batjamas (They like doing that) They've filled their batwater-bottles made their batbeds, With two springy battresses for sleepy batheads. They're closing red eyes and they're counting black sheep, Batman and Robin are falling asleep. Family Ties Forever! 06-11-2017, 08:43 PM RIP AB 06-12-2017, 03:04 PM Rest in peace. No wonder I couldn't find it! And the odd thing is, most people consider a show like Eight Is Enough to be a drama or dramedy and yet it is on the 70s Sitcoms Boards. |
