While none of these cases are in any way something to be laughed at or joked about, there have been some light hearted moments to me through the reenactments/interviews with the family. One segment that always made me chuckle was the case of the Tatum Haunting. Jim and Kay Tatum had a case of poltergeist. In the episode, he explains he's having trouble with a bell that keeps ringing. In one interview you can see he starts changing positions and getting really fired up. Even his wife comments "Boy, this really upset you."

Were there any memories that you have that made you laugh?

PS-I can't praise Amazon Prime enough for being these episodes back!!

Well, hello and welcome!

I can't wait for some of the later seasons to hit Amazon. My favorite "funny" moment was the Mann haunting segment. You know, where Alan Mann and his teenage bride were living with his parents? And she allegedly gets possessed by the ghost in the house? She tackles him while evilly laughing. She probably weighs about 90 lbs, yet was able to overcome Alan, who was easily three times her size. :D

Good times.

Welcome to the board.

I've always assumed that Jim Tatum was getting emotional because he was legitimately spooked about the poltergeist after retelling the story about the bell. I think his wife says something to the effect of, "I've never seen him like this". I think he was trying to avoid crying.

Thank you for the welcome! I have been a life long fan of UM, and have been waiting for what seems like forever for someone to gain the rights to stream it. Right now I am halfway through the second season, and am eagerly awaiting the next seasons. I've come across this board as I've been trying to delve further into the cases. Also, I see IMDB is shutting down its message boards. Though I suppose I can't really blame them. Some of those boards were out of control.

I do remember that episode quite well! And agree, that was quite the reenactment! Also, IIRC, wasn't she only about 16 years old?? And they were still living with his parents.

Yes, he did seem to be getting quite emotional from it. Thank you for the welcome! I am happy to be here and meet fellow fans.

We're happy to have you. Amazon has been bringing quite a few new folks in. I think you'll find the posters here to be pretty fun. We can get rowdy at times, but I think for the most part, we all play well together in the big UM sandbox. :)

By the way LookslikeCRicci, I love your picture! I just watched that episode today and couldn't help but think "man, Patricia Meehan was way ahead of us in terms of the selfie."

She really was. One of the long-time posters on here once joked that Patricia may have invented the selfie. :)

Man, I wish they'd find her. Or her remains. So many questions.

The mabel woods case was not funny at all. It is one of the most twisted crimes featured especially against animals and a good person.

but there was a funny line by the sherriff along the lines of men wanting to kill to protect their dog faster than their wife. I meant to mark it for the UM lines thread. Welcome!

LOL! That was the episode I believe where they interviewed a very bitter woman who made comments to the effect of "She's 300 pounds! How does someone of that size get lost in a crowd? It just doesn't happen!"

Ha!

Yes, that was a very sad case indeed. Does anyone know if they will be putting the full series up? Or are they just doing a few seasons?

My impression is that they are going to put the full Stack run up. They've been doing it in seasons. Which is great and awful at the same time.

The "fumbles" bank robber case was pretty funny. Mainly because of the poor acting when attempting to replicate clumsy moments like tripping over his own feet while robbing a bank. It was like something out of a comedy movie

I've always found her assistant's "What the hell" line hilarious. Not the line itself, just the delivery.

I was watching the case last night of Patty Miller's search for her father Robert. She was the deaf woman who had seen him a few times over the course of her life and had been treated very coldly by her mother and step-father. The case is heart-wrenching and I'm glad she found him.

The funny part is the re-enactment scene when her mother first brings her home and her father is there decorating the Christmas tree. The actress portraying the mother is just so stiff and formal. When the father asks to hold her, she very monotonously says "she's your daughter" and walks forward and hands him the baby. I just couldn't stop laughing at how stilted it seemed. It looked like a woman was handing her baby to a complete stranger.

The boss was hilarious.
As far as Fumbles who another poster mentioned, I always got the impression Robert Stack had to stop himself from laughing during the intro to the segment.

I watched the Lost Dutchman's Mine segment for the first time in awhile and had forgotten about the bizarre twist where the impostor pretended to be Roland Gassler. I chuckled at the re-enactment where the real Ronald Gassler showed up and Tom Kollenborn just nonchalantly says: "Why, you're the second Roland Gassler I've run into the last couple of months".

That had to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen period. I couldn't believe how raw she was about the fat shaming.

Good lord. LOL

Curt Borton's case had a funny moment where the guy that played Brad Bishop pulled a gun on a cousin who did work trying to prove if Curt was dead or alive but the cousin did not want his ID revealed so you could tell the conversation was off to protect his privacy

And here I thought it was just me... His delivery of "what the hell" is one of my favorite UM moments. You're right -- the way it comes out is hilarious!

This is probably more cute than it is funny. But in the exploding Nebraska church segment (with all the late choir members) they mention how immediately following the explosion, the lights in people's homes went out all over town.

In one scene, a toddler is sitting in his high chair and when the lights go out, he looks up and says, "Uh oh!" I'll bet when they were filming the reenactment, he said that as a natural reaction and the producers decided to keep it in when they edited the segment together.

I'm not somebody who normally gushes over little kids and babies, but even I thought that was adorable and funny.

After having just seen the segment for the first time, the acting in the Victorio Peak treasure segment is some of the most hilariously awful I've seen in the series. I was laughing way more than I should have been, particularly at the woman playing Babe Noss.
