So self centered and only bothered to see his son about three times a year? Frederick should have always come first, but he never did..... don't understand why Frasier moved 3,000 miles away from him to begin with.... selfish? I think so.

Wow what a pointless thread  Frasier was not a terrible father, it was just the fact that it was no longer his kid. What did you want him to do? Sue for custody?

What does this THREAD even mean? He doesn't/didn't have custody over his kid. And he was a terrible father because of that??? Obviously you haven't ever watched Frasier and just enjoy trolling people. Get a life.

Why are you so angry? Do you have sand in your vagina?

P.S. It does not matter if Frasier has custody or not. He moved 3,000 miles away from his son. That's not selfish?

P.S.S. You are a douche and you are the one who is the troll seeing as how you follow me all over the boards just to insult me.

Weirdo

I'm not angry. I couldn't care less. More like YOU have your sand in YOUR vagina (if you have one.)

P.S. Stop attacking me or I will be forced to flip out at you. You also created like 3,000 different accounts on this website and got called out on it and you know it. You are a double douche.

Maybe that's because I was trying to avoid YOU. Now leave me alone. You are the one who sought me out, not the other way around, douche bag. You hate me for NO reason. I am through with you, dickface. This is the last time I respond to one of your idiotic posts.

Enough with the name calling and the vulgar language. If it happens again, I'll lock this thread.

To reiterate, Fraiser was a sucky dad.

When the show really started to Jump The Shark around season 8, I actually thought they would play the Frederick Card, and have him move in with Frasier and be a regular character. I was shocked when that never came to be.

Wow, how did I miss this thread? I thought he was a wonderful father. Boston and Seattle aren't exactly close to each other and Frederick was on the show quite a bit. Not sure why there's so much name calling and pointless bashing not to mention disgusting comments. But Frasier was no worse than any other fathers on sitcoms, in my opinion. Even in the first episode he's upset and tells Niles that he misses his little boy. That alone tells me that he cared very much for his son.

I don't think Frasier was a good father, but wasn't a horrible one either. Even though he moved all the way across the country & wasn't near Frederick to help raise him, I can completely see why he moved from Boston to Seattle:

-He wanted to put as much distance between him & Lilith as possible, due to their toxic relationship. And, he wanted to get a fresh start somewhere else.

-He was from Seattle, and felt most comfortable there due to having his father & brother in the area.

He obviously felt bad about not being around Frederick & not being able to really help raise him. Going along with this, he always tried to make time for Frederick during his visits...granted, they were only 2-3 times a year (if that).

However - as far as Frederick was concerned - I didn't feel bad for him not having a father figure around because, honestly - I found him to be a selfish, manipulative little punk. Notably:

-The episode where he ostensibly tried to "get his parents back together", but was only doing it so he could get a bike (or something else he wanted, but that his parents didn't want him to have).

-The Christmas episode in the last season, where he went "goth" and wanted to spend as little time with his father as possible during the short visit, even though Frasier made time for him & was upset that Frederick was gone for most of the days he was there (hanging out with a gf that he could have seen at home in Boston). This was even though father & son barely saw each other to begin with.

How old was Freddie when they divorced? It seems odd that Lilith has him instead of Frasier unless Freddie was still in diapers when they split and she could spend more time at home with him instead of working.
