Um... WHAT!!!! She's the co-lead. Her relationship with Rck Castle is the driving force of the series (for me anyway). I can't picture Castle without Beckett. It makes no sense that they would simply lose the character for budgetary reasons.

Did we learn nothing from "Laverne & Shirley"'s disastrous Season 8, aka, "Laverne w/o Shirley"?. Just cancel the show, don't dissect it.

I've never seen Castle but I've always wanted to. But this just sounds horrendous.

The primary reason she was fired from the show was that the relationship between her and Fillion got leaked to the public and it was an 180 degrees of the show's portrait of them together! LOL! For example, they were not on speaking terms with one another on the set and communicated through an interpreter sort of like one only spoke Spanish and the other Russian. They never would go out with the rest of the crew to socialize if the other was also included in the group, etc...

Update: Castle in syndication has had terrible ratings in North America! It is currently in syndication overseas for now and in early morning hours on TNT!
