Lucas - Dorothy' husband. Dorothy was finally happy w/out her mother nitpicking at her.

Myles - Hones to Rose, but admitted to cheating on her in Golden Palace.

Stan - Once, a yutz, always a yutz.

Bill the Pharmacist - He was too bring. JMO

The little guy that Dorothey dated that had a curse on him that made him irresistable to women. Forget his name.

But I'm going to have to pick the yutz. Herb did a great job w/ the charracter and he was always trying to get dorothy to fogive him. They even got back together and almost got married. Deep down inside, I think Stan really meant well, but always fell too easily into temptaion.

I liked "The Zipper King" that Blance dated. He seemed so unlike her, but they always had fun...

Mel Bushman was his name, I think...

I also thought the guy Sophia married was funny... I can't remember his name, however. He was the one who was Sal's partner in NY, and covered for him when Sal gambled the money away.

WHAT WAS HIS NAME?!?!?!

MAX WINESTOCK!!! Yea, he was a good match for Sophia. I remember when he was in the shower w/ Dorothy and he thought it was Sophia! "Let's play connect the dots" :rotflmao: Then he walks out naked and Dorothy, Rose, and Blanche are looking at him! I love the look on Dorothy's face!

I like Stan because he always makes me laugh. Everytime
he knocked and Dorthy answered the door...he'd say "Hi
it's me, Stan" (as if she didn't know). It never ceases to
amuse me.

Yeah, Stan seemed to be stuck in that same situation...

Most definately Stanley Zbornak. The comical entrepreneurial ideas he comes up with and needs $2,000 from the girls is always hysterical. Too bad the actor that portrayed Stan has died (sorry I couldn't remember his name!) because he was a very funny character. The great episode where he buys the car that says "Pothead" on the license plate instead of "Potatohead" and Sophia states "Stan, Can I be pothead?", because she loved the car, is the single most Laugh out Loud moment on TGG.

Herb Edelman was his name. According to www.imdb.com , he died July 21, 1996 from emphysema.

I caught the episode where Rose dated the midget. Blanche came into the living room with hors d'oerves, and said "Shrimp?" She then made a complete U-turn and headed to the kitchen.

Then the guy wouldn't date Rose anymore because she wasn't Jewish. Ain't that just weird??

Had to vote for Myles. He was the only boyfriend that lasted on the show for any length of time!!! :D Sophia's wannabe-hood boyfriend, Rocco (played by Mickey Rooney) was also good!!!

Just so you all know, this guy died too. He was a regular cast member of NBC's former daytime soap, Another World.

I remember him from Another World. He played the character of Wallingford, who was good friends with the characters of Felicia Gallant and Cass Winthrop.

I loved that scene. It makes me burst into laughter every time. I'd also say Stan was my favorite. He kind of annoyed me at first but then he grew on me. I loved his, "Hi, it's me Stan," everytime he came to the house.

Stan definitly, he was Hilarius. I lke to think of him as the FIFTH cast member. Miles is a close second thought. The best stan episode was the Monkey one. OMG is that funny.

I have to pick Stan. I liked him most in the last episode when he is driving Dorothy to the church. The character was so great.

I also liked episodes with Mel Bushman. "Bushman awaits." lol

I think it can depend on whether you're asking "who was most fun to watch," in which case I agree Stan would be up there, or "who would be nicest to know in real life." In which case, if I look at just the original Golden Girls series and leave out Golden Palace, I would have to say Miles and Ken Whittingham, the lawyer who became a clown.

The character of Miles does seem to go all over the map: in some episodes, he quite romantically does these extreme things to keep Rose - jumping of a plane, or out of the witness protection program, asserting himself with his daughter who doesn't want him to be with Rose. And I love that he talks about Rose the whole time he's out with Blanche in "Dancing in the Dark." I don't know how much I can sympathize with him in some of the fights with Rose: "Twice in a Lifetime," "Girls Just Wanna..." "Pope's Ring." He's more of a stereotypical, macho guy there, but I can see that Rose kind of plays games with him (usually on Blanche's advice.) That's why the cheating in Golden Palace doesn't make sense to me. She always seems to be one pulling back.

I don't like how he doesn't seem in love with Rose in "Midwinter" - I think the writing of him there is more like Golden Palace.

But the qualities and interests they give him are appealing: poetry, dancing, cooking.

As for Ken: the clown thing doesn't bother me at all. I'm a law school grad, and I agree with Ken - I'd rather be doing something entertaining!

But doesn't that seem just totally backwards? Dorothy dates a clown and Rose dates a professor (or even, an accountant who is very intellectual?) Rose even acted "turned on" by the clown act in "Love Under the Big Top," while it bothered Dorothy, and I think there were hints that Dorothy, and perhaps Blanche as well, wished to be the ones dating Miles.

How about Salvadore Petrillo? Although he only appeared in flashbacks and dream sequenses, he probably appeared the most next to Stan and Miles.

I loved the flashbacks and dream sequences that featured Sal.

Jonathan Newman (the "little person" that Rose dates) is fun to watch, but I ended up not liking him much as a person. I don't think it's wrong to want a partner of your own religion, but he shouldn't have let the relationship with Rose go as far as he did. We have to assumed he asked her out in the first place, because she wouldn't have asked a guy out.

And I guess I felt like Jonathan was making fun of other people.

Gotta go with the yutz himself, Stan. From his godawful rugs to his dropping in at the most inopportune times at the girls' house - he never ceased to make me laugh. Yes, he was a cad, a womanizer, etc. but deep down he was a good guy. I think it's a testament to Herb Edelman that he made a character who must have seemed awful on paper and made Stan so much fun to watch.

So did I. I also loved seeing Estelle without her wig, glasses and old age makeup. The actress who played the young Dorothy was terrific, too. She had Bea Arthur's mannerisms and vocal inflections down pat.

I know he doesn't count as a "guy" for our purposes - not a boyfriend to any of the girls, but I thought Clayton Hollingsworth was pretty attractive.

My favorite guys were Miles, Sal and Clayton but Stan was fun but annoying at times. But yes very enjoyable to watch, I loved Clayton cause he's just a sweet guy and the total opposite of Blanche.

Sal was my second favorite guy/husband because I loved all the flashbacks with Sophia when Dorothy was a teenager and pregnant and the V'day episode with the candy that was sweet. I also love how they have fights and end them with "I love u's" :D

Now Miles, I pick him as my favorite guy (minus the TGP) stuff Miles & Rose are my favorite couple and I though Miles was one of the nicest guys on the show. He also 'at times' was the sweetest boyfriend to Rose and I being a Rose fan wanted her to be happy and he made her happy.

Miles Webber (Harold Gould) was by far the most appealing, to me. But Jake the caterer was a very close second. On the DVD episodes where they have the cast members narrate an episode, Betty White really gushes over Harold Gould. You get the distinct impression that she kind of had a crush on him during the time they worked together.
