The CNN documentary series begins by focusing on the groundbreaking shows that came out of the 1980s.
Vahan 04-01-2016, 12:51 AM They're NOT mentioning The Cosby Show? Shame on them!
The allegations aside, the grounds the show broke should NOT be ignored. It should NOT be banned form the airwaves. Legacy erasing needs to stop this instant.
Gemini_89 04-01-2016, 12:55 AM If they don't mention The Facts of Life which was groundbreaking for women on tv nor The Cosby Show then i know that they are on that BULLS**t.
Vahan 04-01-2016, 01:00 AM If they don't mention The Facts of Life which was groundbreaking for women on tv nor The Cosby Show then i know that they are on that BULLS**t.

Well said Vahan
Jamey Greek 04-01-2016, 02:18 PM Will there be an encore? I missed it last night.
Mr. Television 04-01-2016, 02:53 PM If they don't mention TCS then it's a joke.

Are you obsessed with that show?
mets82 04-01-2016, 05:04 PM I missed it. It wasnt that good?? I would steer clear of mentioning the Cosby Show myself. To me, everytime I think of the show now, I think of what Cosby did. And thats a shame because there were some good episodes. This is just my opinion, but to me the show is tainted.
Didnt the FOL actually debut in 1979?

Yes, but only 6 episodes.

CNN has always been BS.

It might be tainted but how do you talk about TV in the 1980's without mentioning TCS. It was the biggest show of the decade.

For some reason I thought it would be about news and politics
My reminder is set
Babalu 04-02-2016, 04:33 PM CNN, the former news network, now puts all kind of fluff features on in prime time because no one watches their news.

Vahan 04-02-2016, 07:09 PM ALL Mainstream News Channels, including Fox News, should be avoided like the plague.

Amen. Also, I would love to see Wheel of Fortune. Wheel took off in the 80s.

Cosby Show is being mentioned now at the 26 min mark
I knew it was no way they could discuss the 80's and not mention the cosby show
Svenfan1234 04-02-2016, 09:36 PM Hopefully this will be able to be streamed online or something
TVFactFan 04-02-2016, 09:47 PM best to just get cable lol
Svenfan1234 04-02-2016, 10:18 PM I wish that this would be on streaming or whatever. I don't have cable, and cable is dumb, so I'm not sure I want it anyways.
TVFactFan 04-02-2016, 10:23 PM This 80's is great by the way but I am surprised that we are at the 1:20 min mark of 2:00 and these shows have not been mentioned
Different strokes
Facts of Life
Silver Spoons
Webster
Head of the Class
Amen
227
Gimmie a Break
TVFactFan 04-02-2016, 11:00 PM CNN the 80's makes no sense
They reference small wonder but not Facts of Life or Different strokes?
BigManMike 04-02-2016, 11:25 PM I wish I could have seen this. I get CNN through Sling TV but I can't record it so I missed it. The other day, CNN was on in the break room at work and they were talking about this show and they mentioned Diff'rent Strokes and we're talking to Todd Bridges. I didn't see much of it though.

Dianne3 04-04-2016, 05:24 PM I no longer watch CNN, so if it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't know about "The Eighties."
I'm going to miss out on this.
Although I do like these shows, I've had enough of CNN.
The only way I won't miss out, if others here watch and then post.
