We may no have always agreed with his posts, but I think we can all agree he added to this message board. I noticed you appear to have the same last name as him: McGrath. Were you related to him? Just wondering how you found out so quickly. cordwainer1453 04-01-2016, 10:04 AM He was my dad, though we lived in different parts of the country. MegtheEgg86 04-01-2016, 10:56 AM I enjoyed your dad's posts and will miss reading his thoughts on cases. I am so sorry for your loss. RobinW 04-01-2016, 12:11 PM I'm very sorry for the loss of your father. This is quite a shock. I enjoyed discussing numerous cases with him this past month. crystaldawn 04-01-2016, 12:20 PM So sorry to hear this. He will be missed. :( DALLASTEXAN!! 04-01-2016, 04:00 PM Sorry for your loss Hope you feel better soon! sprinkles 04-02-2016, 01:14 AM I'm sorry for your loss. While I don't contribute much, I do read this site regularly and always enjoyed his posts. Awsi Dooger 04-04-2016, 05:51 PM Oh no. That is terrible. I can't remember when I've been so numb after opening a thread. No, I didn't always agree with jjmcgr, specifically on EAR-A and a copycat EAR-B, but always appreciated the ton of effort and research he provided, specifically on that EAR-ONS case on the old A&E board and applied to his own site on that case. I tried to communicate that point to him once he started posting more frequently here recently, that he made a big difference. In fact, his EAR-ONS site is often referenced for material that can't be found anywhere else. I'm glad he seemed to be active and upbeat until the end, or very close to the end. I remember him posting in many threads in recent weeks and months. I had no idea this was imminent. RIP LooksLikeCRicci 04-04-2016, 06:52 PM Oh, no. Horrible news. Although I didn't engage him too much in conversation, I did always enjoy the perspectives he brought to the table. I will miss reading his posts. My condolences to you and your family. Spark Of Spirit 04-04-2016, 08:48 PM RIP. He was a quality poster from what I've seen. cordwainer1453 04-05-2016, 09:14 AM https://keohane.com/services/john-jude-mcgrath/ cordwainer1453 04-05-2016, 09:15 AM Oh no. That is terrible. RIP It was quite sudden. dynoguy88 04-05-2016, 12:00 PM https://keohane.com/services/john-jude-mcgrath/ That is way too young to die. I'm incredibly sorry for your loss. Awsi Dooger 04-05-2016, 04:28 PM It was quite sudden. Gad, very young, in fact younger than I would have guessed, based on the references he often made. But I see that he was a historian, so that explains it. Quite an interesting biography. I'm impressed that he was working toward a doctorate. This information should be posted on the EAR-ONS site on proboards. Many of the regular posters there migrated from the A&E forum on EAR-ONS and would be very familiar with your father's posts and contributions. http://earonsgsk.proboards.com/board/1/general-ear-ons-gsk-discussion TheCars1986 04-05-2016, 10:10 PM Wow, that's sad. RIP Bonniegirl 04-05-2016, 10:22 PM Cordwainer 1453, I didn't know your Father, I never posted with him. But very sad to hear of a S.O. member passing away ! Sorry for your loss! Awsi Dooger 04-06-2016, 03:33 PM I always wondered about his user name. Now I see that it was based on his initials and last name. Steve W. 04-06-2016, 06:49 PM I'm sorry for your loss, OP. Of course, that's always sad news but I'm glad to find out that two immediate family members (that aren't directly tied to the cases themselves) can co-exist well on this board. |
