I personally wish that Washington State would just adapt Daylight savings Time all year round. The only weird thing about that is that in the winter it wouldn't become light until about 9am. Still I could handle it, I think. This article makes a pretty good case for it. http://www.king5.com/story/weather/blog/2015/02/26/daylight-saving-time-stay-or-go/24001503/

I like this DST...spring ahead!

Now I can go out later since the sun won't set until 7ish.

One less hour of sleep, ugh. I understand that it means more sunshine, but I don't like that in the summer it doesn't get dark until 9pm. There have been times at 8:30pm and the sun is still shining and bright.

As someone who is sensitive to sunlight [Aniridia] I'm not a fan of the extra hours of sunlight.

I remember when it was more well rounded with the daylight savings time. It used to follow in October and end in April [six months]. Now it's the first Sunday in November and early-to-mid March. Oh well.

Yeah. Mainly! But not yesterday! We had a downpour !!! I was stuck out in the rain running errands on foot ,it was really coming down!!!! It was also really windy!

And lately spring has been in the air! The smell of flowers in bloom !!!;) Out here where we don't get extreme winter weather, and even on warm sunny days it doesn't smell or have the feeling of spring from December - March if that makes sense? I always loved Springtime. And I LOVE Easter!!!!!;)

I was thinking of you guys too when I posted. Aren't you glad the really cold weather and snowstorms will be coming to an end? ;)

Yeah, sometimes!!! Like sometimes if I'm really tired and want to settle in with pajamas and it's still light out after 8:00,it's like get dark already! It's not as much fun as when we were kids out playing to have so much daylight! ;) But still I prefer this to the other time when we set the clocks back. It seems depressing when the day is over too quickly!!! :(

Daylight Savings Time day is a sign that spring is near, with warmer days and more sunlight in the evening. All good things. Clocks move ahead one hour, spring forward! :D On the down side, it also means it's thunderstorm and tornado season. I hate it but can't do anything about it, just have to hope the worst of the bad weather stays away.

This was already done in the year of 1973, when we had year round daylight saving time.

http://www.standardtime.com/

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time_in_the_United_States

Here is a 12 page study from that time:

In 1973, Congress enacted the Emergency Daylight Saving Time Energy Conservation Act. This Act changed the nation from the traditional six-month May to October daylight saving time period to year-round observance of daylight saving time for a two-year trial period.

I know you all are going to be tired for a while in the morning. But a good point of DST is it will seem like you are getting out of work or school an hour earlier! I remember when I worked, and when it was 5:00,it really was 4:00 and it was like YAY ,work is over already!!!!!

The time change has never effected me, it never makes me feel tired or less tired. I just change the time on the clocks and that's it. Honestly, I don't even notice there's been a change in the time. One hour more or less has no effect on me whatsoever.

Not much for me either! Just a little tired the first day! ;) And like I posted, the Monday back to work day, seems you are getting up really early and to work earlier, but the day flies by and seems it's over really quickly!!! ;) It's a plus!! The "bad" DST, where we lose sleep.

Totally. I don't care what the alarm click says.; 7:30 am STILL feels like 6:30 and I could care less about the"extra" hour of sunlight. It takes me about a week to ten days for my body to adjust.

Except for the Sunday after the change (fortunately I don't work weekends), it's never really bothered me, and the Sunday after is just forgetting the hour difference when I wake up. We usually change the clocks before we go to bed. it's always dark when I go to work, and always light when I come home so I don't notice.

When the time changes in spring, I notice the longer daylight in the evening. And when the time changes in autumn, I notice the shorter daylight in the afternoon. But aside from that, the time change has no effect on me.

Interesting way of phrasing it. Actually, daylight savings time is now ending, not starting. You're complaining that it has to be dark at 4:30 in the afternoon but that's the real time. Daylight savings time is what's artificial. We are now on standard time.

What's strange is that we're only on real time 4 months of the year and "artificial" time 8 months of the year. So when daylight savings time ends it seems wrong or out of the ordinary even though it's how things are supposed to be.

Daylight Savings Time was extended in 2005 to save energy.
