I've been watching CPO Sharkey lately. It's my personal observation that it seems to be like a cross between McHale's Navy and All In The Family. What shows do you feel are like a cross between two other shows?

Well, Valerie's character did host a radio show.

Valerie who? No, I did think of that , but that wasn't till season 5. Overall, I still don't see the "cross between" unless of course it's for Leeves and Malick.

Laverne and Shirley is like a cross between Happy Days and I Love Lucy.
Perfect Strangers is like a cross between The Odd Couple and That Girl.


I see the analogy between Happy Days and I love Lucy for L & S , but I don't get the connection of Odd couple and That girl becoming Perfect Strangers? :confused:


Oh!!!! ;) Maybe because the two blonde single girl neighbors, could be compared to Ann Marie from That Girl? ;) Yeah OK Ann Marie was brunette, but if she lived in the same building as Oscar and Felix! Might be the same mix as the Perfect Strangers cast! ;)

I have both seasons on DVD. I finished up season one not too long ago and I recently watched the first episode of season two. I'm liking the show so far. It probably should've lasted longer.

NBC placed Sharkey in the Sanford Arms on Friday nights after Sanford Arms was cancelled after 7 eps during season 2. So you know it wasn't going to last long after that move.

One Day at a Time= family sitcom +The Jerry Springer Show (i.e lots of yelling)

Plus a brother in law makes a move on a sister in law and a woman marries her daughters husband's father.
