A lot of early examples of shows based on comic "strips" (as opposed to comic books), like "Terry and the Pirates," "Dick Tracy," "Flash Gordon," "Jungle Jim," "Joe Palooka," and such. There was also the two "Blondie" series, the first with Pamela Britton, and the second with Patricia Harty. Retro4Life 12-26-2015, 12:39 PM Sable, from 1987, I believe, was based on a comic. Tintin is a comic book character who is very popular in Europe but not so much over here. He did have his own cartoon series that was shown here on Teletoon Retro but otherwise he's nothing special.
