View Full Version : MUST SEE EPS!!! Barbara and Mark's wedding tonight!
Bonniegirl 10-24-2015, 05:22 PM So all of you on Eastern Standard time take a nap, because you don't want to fall asleep for these major eps!!!! Remember the big controversy because Mark wanted to play golf and Barbara wasn't too happy about it!
I found the old thread we had going last time, but decided not to bump it up!! There was a lot of fighting going on that thread!

The checks in mail. If I remember it right, I started that trouble and was heavily involved. Hey, I was a rookie back then.

Never miss ONE DAY, or any of the fine late night TV options, again. Recommended by 4 out of 5 doctors. Or at least that young guy who took care of Julie's appendix.

The box of NoDoz pills you posted reminds me of a TV commercial I saw about 40 years ago when watching late night TV on WGN in Chicago. The commercial was for alertness/energy pills called Wakoz (pronounced Wake-oz.) It was an interesting commercial, must be why it's still fresh in my memory 40 years later. Late night TV was great in those days.
-That's not a fight, that's a minor kerfuffle
-What golf championship tournament tees off so early in the morning?
-Barbara's (and Julie's) bedroom seemed to have gotten bigger over the years.
- I say we hunt down that @#$% Cynthia Ogletree and straighten her out.

 :D
And it was a good thing for Mark to play golf, or he would sit in the corner counting his toes? Now that would have been weird!!! Isn't that what he said? It didn't make much sense !!!!   :D
1960'sTVfan 10-25-2015, 11:40 AM Well I tried, but I dozed off again and missed the end of the 2nd episode. I saw up to the part where the guy walks in and says Mark will leave the golf course no later than 11:15, which made Ann uptight because the wedding was supposed to start at noon. That's when I zoned out.
I think I'll just have to start recording these shows on the DVR and watch later because I often have difficulty staying awake.
From what I saw of this two-parter, it was OK but I didn't really care for it all that much. I thought Barbara was being a little over dramatic about Mark's golf playing. However, I could also see her point. Any guy who insists on playing golf the morning of his wedding day doesn't have his priorities straight. Both Mark and Barbara acted immature in this episode, like neither one was ready to be married.
Wawwie 10-25-2015, 12:25 PM Barbara was telling Mark..........."everything has to go right because it's the most important day in a woman's life"
So what about the man's life? That day has no importance?
Like it's not a very special day for the groom?
Barbara could really be a dingbat sometimes.
It also pissed me off how she was so selfish in getting upset that Julie might be having labor pains so close to her wedding.
SELFISH.
Barbara acted like such a giant baby when Mark was trying to explain his side of things... regarding the morning golf and how Barbara keeps saying "It's MY wedding..... it's MY day..." She wouldn't even let him speak. She just storms out of the apartment like a spoiled brat.
I was completely on Mark's side.
Barbara was a total shrew to Mark on the celebration night before the wedding.

Barbara and Mark were both selfish, neither one acted like they were ready to be married. But I agree Barbara behaved like an over the top drama queen because of Mark's golfing. She must have taken drama lessons from Ann.
Anna Karenina 10-25-2015, 01:30 PM Mark could have golfed any other day of the year. He never showed any interest in it beyond the wedding episode so it couldn't have been all that important to him anyway.
He was the selfish one in my opinion.
He should have put his wife first on their wedding day. As it was, he got there just in the nick of time and Ed had to run after him. He really put himself first and was very self centered about the whole thing.
That being said, Barbara can be real shrew sometimes. (Like in the Vegas 2 parter where she acted like a 2 year old.) But she was right about this one thing!:happyface
katshifty 10-25-2015, 02:02 PM Since no one else had mentioned it...what about Julie's clothes?? The outfit she showed up in was bad enough, but the dress she wore to the wedding was downright hideous!!!
Torgo 10-25-2015, 02:37 PM Who needs soaps, when you have One Day At A Time.
Bonniegirl 10-25-2015, 04:17 PM Well if it would relax him I don't see anything wrong with Mark playing a little golf on the morning of his wedding. That is just it though, morning! He shouldn't have stayed out golfing so late and cutting it close like that! For a guy all it takes to get ready is a shower, and a shave and put on the tux and he's ready ,so he really didn't need to just be hanging out all day feeling nervous! So a couple hours in the morning golfing would be fine, but he did stay kind of late and he knew he was stressing his bride out! He was a little selfish in that way, but Barbara kind of was overreacting too, even way before they were at the church and he was running late!!!
LOL!!! It would have been funny if Julie went into labor at the church during the ceremony ,if Barbara was worried at the apt even that Julie was going in labor right before her wedding what if it happened at the wedding!!!! LOL!!!
Bonniegirl 10-25-2015, 04:27 PM Since no one else had mentioned it...what about Julie's clothes?? The outfit she showed up in was bad enough, but the dress she wore to the wedding was downright hideous!!!
Those dresses were pretty bad ! They looked like dresses that a fat old lady would wear, not maternity dresses ! She looked TOO big!!! Like you could tell she was padded up and not really pregnant I thought! Schneider looked better in that maid of honor dress than she did!!!
Julie looked good and healthy in the face though, but that short perm had to go. Another thing that looked too old for her! It was like a middle aged woman's hair not a girl in her early 20's!
I think I'll just have to start recording these shows on the DVR and watch later because I often have difficulty staying awake.
After all your sleep stories, I had been wondering if you had recording capabilities.
That being said, Barbara can be real shrew sometimes.
>...just let me remove this knife from my heart...<
But I would have liked to have tamed her. [Hey, Shakespeare joke.]
Though seriously, if Barbara didn't have some Ed/Ann/Julie temper in her, she would have looked adopted.

Off topic (kinda) : opus, you're a big Valerie Bertenelli fan, so do you watch her new cooking show on the cooking channel. I think it's called Valerie's Kitchen, or maybe it's Cooking With Valerie.

Yea, the show comes on late here, 11PM during the week and midnight on the weekend. I'm usually awake for the first episode, it's the second one when I tend to doze off. So I'll set the DVR for the next couple months, in case I miss something I can watch later. When Carson starts in January, that will probably be it anyway.

You mean you can tell? I was trying to be subtle. But no, cooking shows aren't for me, so I've never seen it.
Anna Karenina 10-25-2015, 06:42 PM Just want to say if Mark needed to relax so badly he could have found other ways to do so without potentially being late to his wedding.
This sudden needing to go golfing was preposterous. It was as stupid as him hijacking her to Kokomo because he was ticked at her.
Ann was right, Barbara could get away with anything because of her looks. But she happened to be right this one time. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
I want to check out Val's cooking show!

I would have let Ed tame me!;)
Wawwie 10-25-2015, 07:20 PM I would have let Ed tame me!;)
Hell yeah! Ed was HOT!
Anna Karenina 10-25-2015, 08:22 PM Indeed, Wawwie!
I still cannot see why she couldn't make things work with good looking, affable Ed.
She always seemed to find fault with Ed and yet she gave the married creep she slept with a pat on the back when he basically used her as his mid life crisis.
Ann was weird.

That married guy totally used Ann to get over his wife, and once his mission was accomplished, he dumped Ann like some used trash. Funny how Ann sympathized with that scum bag. Meanwhile, nothing Ed ever did was even half as bad. Ed was basically a very good husband and father. Ann threw him out like trash and she got her karma.
Anna Karenina 10-25-2015, 09:46 PM and on the shallow side of things, Ed was way hotter than the married lover! :)
Wawwie 10-25-2015, 09:51 PM and on the shallow side of things, Ed was way hotter than the married lover! :)
OH YEAH!!! Ed made that guy look like dog-doo.
Damn, Ed was so fine! Ann's ridiculous ego got the best of her, and she got her karma when the married guy dumped her stupid ass.
I always felt that Ann regretted leaving Ed when she met Ed's girlfriend that took Barb and Julie out to the circus... the girlfriend before the second wife... can't remember her name, I think she was a model...
A hell of a lot better looking and more pleasant than Ann the shrew.
What do you ladies think of her ending up with Sam? Looks, personality, whatever.
Wawwie 10-25-2015, 10:13 PM What do you ladies think of her ending up with Sam? Looks, personality, whatever.
Sam aside...
If it was me, I never would have left Ed.
Bonniegirl 10-25-2015, 11:32 PM and on the shallow side of things, Ed was way hotter than the married lover! :)
Yeah!!! Ed was hot and esp. considering he wasn't that young!!! ;) That married lover of Ann's was a short ,balding/hairline reseeding/comb over creep!! That same actor also played a "Family friend" of the Keaton's on Family Ties, who touched Malorie ,a teenage girl very inappropriately!!! He had "Creep" written all over him!!!!
but back to Mark, well I always thought Barbara could do better any way!!!Besides the Kokomo coffee incident, he was nerdy, wore his pants up too high like an old man, and that too small for him weird jacket he wore all the time ! Anna, you posted about that jacket before right? :D
mets82 10-26-2015, 04:54 PM I didnt see the wedding this time, I was watching something else but if Mark wanted to golf, he should've golfed. But I would make him understand that he better get his ass to the church on time or the wedding is off.
And on a side note, I liked Sam. He was better than Scheinder. Sam was funny.
I didnt see the wedding this time, I was watching something else .
That's ok. Remember last time you watched it? Same stuff happened this time too.
mets82 10-26-2015, 05:02 PM Thats good because I'd be so freakin' mad if something else happened and I wasnt watching.

IDK with me I sometimes pick up on things I didn't remember from last time around !!! Maybe I have early stage dementia or something!! I am getting up there in years!!!

It would be cool though , if you tuned in, and suddenly Barbara married the best man or something like that.

That parts true. I now have a burning hatred for Cynthia Ogletree, which I didn't remember from last time.

Yeah!!! How dare that third grade classmate say that Barbara was too ugly to ever get married!!!

Yeah she would have to go through her whole married life being called Babs or Beulah!!!

mets82 03-02-2016, 02:55 AM Actually, I would beat the hell out of both of you to marry Barbara.

Well I was kind of mean!!!:( I got to like Mark a lot!! I take back what I said!!! I feel remorse!!!!!! :( After the kokomo coffee incident, he turned out to be a really good guy! :) ;)
mets82 03-02-2016, 03:55 PM Yeah, me too. I didnt like Mark at first but he grew on me too. Max, on the other hand...
