View Full Version : Your Favorite 1960s sitcom? Michael cole 10-18-2015, 01:59 PM I choose The Many Loves Of Doby Gillis Michael cole 10-18-2015, 02:06 PM Sorry about the double thread. Don't pay attention to the other one. Regulus 10-18-2015, 02:55 PM Get Smart! :rotflmao:  :brent Bonniegirl 10-18-2015, 03:45 PM https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/4c/BeaverSeason_2.jpg/300px-BeaverSeason_2.jpg Also Petticoat Junction and Green Acres, but they weren't on the list! Jack Gomez 10-18-2015, 04:14 PM Dennis the Menace gidgetgrape 10-18-2015, 04:24 PM I chose "Car 54, Where Are You?" from the list because it cracks me up. Michael cole 10-18-2015, 04:32 PM I chose "Car 54, Where Are You?" from the list because it cracks me up. I also love Car 54, Where Are You! 1960'sTVfan 10-18-2015, 05:17 PM From the shows to choose from in this list, I chose Hazel. Leave It To Beaver aired until 1963, but it debuted in 1957, so technically it's really a 50's sitcom. Dobie Gillis and Dennis The Menace debuted in 1959, so they can be defined as 60's sitcoms. There should be more shows in this list. Where is Bewitched? I Dream Of Jeannie? Addams Family? Green Acres? Get Smart? Hogan's Heroes? McHale's Navy? Flintstones? Just to name a few. Flintstones is animated but it's still a 60's sitcom. Mr. Television 10-18-2015, 06:05 PM The Beverly Hillbillies Marvo301 10-18-2015, 06:10 PM The Dick Van Dyke Show. Great writing! Great direction! Great cast! Torgo 10-18-2015, 06:10 PM From the list Leave It To Beaver. gidgetgrape 10-18-2015, 08:27 PM I also love Car 54, Where Are You! I think it's one of the most progressive and original shows of its time. They had people from different backgrounds together without that being the focal point of the show or a very special episode. And bonus -- it centered on middle aged adults without cute kids and pets. Pure comedy. Love it. Michael cole 10-18-2015, 08:49 PM I think it's one of the most progressive and original shows of its time. They had people from different backgrounds together without that being the focal point of the show or a very special episode. And bonus -- it centered on middle aged adults without cute kids and pets. Pure comedy. Love it. That was the good thing about it. Too many sitcoms from that era always had a kid in the show. It was refreshing. It was something different from the rest. That's why I loved it! scrapple 10-18-2015, 08:53 PM It was a tough choice between Andy Griffith and Beaver, but I finally went with the Beav. However, my favorite wasn't among the choices offered: Bewitched (only the Dick York years, of course) tlc38tlc38 10-18-2015, 09:01 PM Voted for "TBH" but "Green Acres" is my absolute favorite from the 60s. tvfreak1987 10-18-2015, 11:07 PM From that list, Dick Van Dyke. All time, though, Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie rank ahead of it. dakert 10-18-2015, 11:15 PM Tough choice--thank you for not having Patty Duke Show or My Three Sons in the poll. I couldn't choose so I went with the show I would most likely to watch on dvd, Car 54, Where Are You. bencasey 10-20-2015, 09:51 PM My favorite would be He and She, with Occasional Wife second. Very limited poll. How about a none of the above selection? Michael cole 11-02-2015, 12:44 AM It is a tie between Family Affair and That Girl Good choice. Family Affair was good. Never cared For That Girl, That much. Bonniegirl 11-02-2015, 02:03 AM Really? I love That Girl; I thought it was a cute sitcom, and I absolutely LOVED the outfits that Marlo Thomas wore during the series Me too!! And I loved her boyfriend Donald!!!! When I was a little girl, I was like when I grow up I want a boyfriend like him!!!;) :D And her cool apartment, her big hair and cool clothes and all!!! The show was cute!!! :) Michael cole 11-02-2015, 02:18 AM I also forgot to add Get Smart. Bonniegirl 11-02-2015, 02:23 AM The show was cute, her clothes were cute, and Donald was cute. :D That Girl is one of the few sitcoms, from the 1960's, that I actually enjoy watching. Another sitcoms that was not added (in the poll) was My Favorite Martian; another fave of mine. :D I caught an ep of My favorite Martian the other day on COZI TV!!! I hadn't seen it in so long. It was a cute, funny show!!!!! Bill Bixby was so young and cute!!!:) andress_jade 11-02-2015, 03:42 AM I Dream of Jeannie, The Andy Griffith Show, The Addams Family, I Love Lucy, Bewitched, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Gilligan's Island, The Munsters, Mr. Ed. AB 11-02-2015, 06:43 PM From the poll list I picked The Andy Griffith Show. king of comedy 11-02-2015, 08:35 PM Andy Griffith wins gidgetgrape 11-03-2015, 04:20 AM It is a tie between Family Affair and That Girl Family Affair is growing on me. The first time I saw it was on the old fX channel when I was a teenager. I thought it was pretty corny. Now, that I'm older and (slightly) more sentimental, I can appreciate the warmth and cuteness it brings. I like That Girl, particularly season 2, which I have on DVD. However, I discovered when MeTv aired it that I really can't stand Ann Marie's voice and excitement too early in the morning. I need caffeine and sleep to awesomeness of Ann. OH Nuts! 11-03-2015, 11:19 AM Of the show's listed in the poll, I like Hazel the best. But my favorite 60s show is Bewitched by leaps and bounds. I'm also very fond of That Girl, but that could be argued as a 60s or 70s show, since it spanned both decades. Crusinforabrusin 01-22-2016, 02:33 AM My MOST favorite show from the 60s has to be The Munsters! I do love all the shows from that decade though! Kasey 01-24-2016, 10:12 AM Of the show's listed in the poll, I like Hazel the best. But my favorite 60s show is Bewitched by leaps and bounds. See above AMackII 08-28-2019, 12:43 PM Gilligan Island, The Andy Griffith Show, Hazel & Leave It To Beaver Fleet 08-29-2019, 01:55 AM Bewitched. After that, Get Smart. MA 09-08-2019, 06:26 AM The Andy Griffith Show king of comedy 04-24-2020, 01:04 PM The only one I take is The Andy Griffith Show. It still holds up and still looks fresh today. Schmoopie 04-24-2020, 05:52 PM Out of that list I'll go with Dobie Gillis, very closely followed by Leave it to Beaver SitcomsHeydayfan 04-25-2020, 02:59 AM Gilligan's Island & it's not even close. I like the ambience of the island in addition to the show itself. merlinjones 08-26-2022, 03:24 PM I can't vote in a poll that includes Hazel, Dennis, and Car 54... but not Bewitched, Jeannie, and Green Acres |
