View Full Version : Just realizing that i have a phobia of clay composites of unidentified victims
shawnz12 08-30-2015, 12:52 PM To be even more specific, the ones from the 70's to 90's (Heavily featured on shows such as UM during this era.)
Here's one i seen recently on another thread that made me realize how severe my phobia is of this. (One on the left *Pretty disturbing*)

But if it's helping to identify the victim and catch a killer I don't see what the problem is.

The purpose of these composites are great as for what they do, i'm just stating that those that were made in that specific era has a certain aesthetic which causes me fear for some reason. It's not in a way of disrespect; but genuine wonder as to why these specifically scare me.

I believe that be an actual picture of the body with eyes superimposed over the face.
The same style composite for the Sumter County Couple is far more terrifying.

Man that explains why that one severely affected my sleep the night i seen it. I'm no stranger to disturbing subject matter, scary movies, or a few other things that may impede sleep. But that picture brought me to a mental paralysis of just fear that i rarely have ever experienced in my life. I guess this one doesn't count as a clay composition because i can easily state that Picture would have been the scariest clay composition i ever seen. So i guess i should change this thread title to "Fear of autopsy photos" which i try to avoid for this very reason. (The combination of the eyes and the now obvious dead body i have never seen before.)
LethalMatthew1996 08-31-2015, 06:11 AM That's very interesting. I remember that in 2006, when I was 9 years old, body parts were found in the Maas near the Rotterdam harbor in my country, the Netherlands. The police released a clay composite of the Jane Doe, and it aired on the national news. When I saw that composite, I got extremely frightened. I'm not sure why, if it was the eyes that looked dead, or the way the head turned around, but I couldn't sleep for months! It's in the middle of this clip: http://www.eenvandaag.nl/binnenland/32741/wie_was_het_maasmeisje_

I distinctly remember the first time i seen a jane doe clay sculpt on a A.M.W. case involving a victim found in a chimney. The backstory of a woman being found that way plus the imaga of the sculpt gave me nightmares that saturday.
Necco 09-04-2015, 06:24 PM How bad is your fear? Does this scare you?

Lol of course. That's an unidentified victim that destroyed my childhood. Shame that a pizza chain used this composite for their mascot.
Babydollz24 09-08-2015, 12:58 AM Shawn, that picture of the unidentified girl gave me nightmares when I first saw it! That is one of the scariest ive ever seen

Same here, that picture alone immediately made me realize how un easy i feel seeing composites like this (If this pic really is a clay sculpt as someone earlier stated its an autopsy photo.)
