You were all set for it, planned to get into it, but it didn't do it for you, and you bailed quickly.

One that is very much like that for me is Northern Exposure.

Backstrom was a show I wanted to like, but quit watching after the first episode.

In my case it is the Michael J. Fox Show as I love spin City and like Fox himself also very much. But honestly I only watched a few minutes of the Pilot of MJF-Show so far so perhaps I will like it one day. But presumbly not because usually a few minutes are enough if I really like a series

Michael J. Fox Show
The Goldbergs

and many other new sitcoms that I had hoped would be good IMHO.

I have several but the very first one that pops into my head is The Honeymooners.

Absolutely! Even $10 (which I paid for the Classic 39 release at the Wal-Mart a time back) is too much for, IMO, one of the most unfunny comedies in the history of the medium.

Eastbound and Down. I thought it tried too hard to be edgy...you're on HBO, the F-bombs are already expected! :p

2 Broke Girls (it was funny at times but gets repetitive)
Family Ties (could never understand its popularity)
How I Met Your Mother (at times tends to veer off its original premise)

Family Ties only became popular after The Cosby Show debuted.

I loved Family Ties in its original run, up until year 6.
It was my favourite sitcom of the 80's. (before the Golden Girls)

Then in year 6 I started to get bored and was not as into it the final 2 years. I thought it was because by then Micheal J. Fox was outgrowing the role of Alex.

Now when I see it in reruns, I still watch it but I'm not as into it.

Family Ties only became popular after The Cosby Show debuted.
And Cheers only became popular after it was moved after TCS and FT. So what's your point? I know the series last show was #1 for the week and it aired on a Sunday and Cosby was nowhere to be found so it had it's own audience.

True Detective

I was super excited to finally watch the HBO hit series. I knew it would be slow, and I was willing to give it time. In the end, however, I ABSOLUTELY HATED it. One huge bore and waste of time.

Season one (McConaughey/Harrelson), or season two (Farrell/McAdams/Vaughn)?

Partners.

I thought it had strong potential, but I was definitely underwhelmed.

Which "Partners", the Fox sitcom from 1995, the CBS sitcom from 2012 or the FX comedy from 2014?

All in the family
Mad men
Breaking bad
The soprano
The wire
The walking dead
Six feet under
Game of thrones
Friends
House
ANY reality show
That 70s show
I'm going to get bashed for saying this, "the honeymooners"
The Addams family (I like The Munsters more)
Grace under fire (nearly as bad as Roseanne)

That's all I can think of for now.

I'm right in with you on The Honeymooners. At least to me, that show had very few laughs, and as such, even though I only spent $10 on it, that $10 was a waste of money.

I also wanted to like Alfred Hitchcock Presents, but for reasons unknown, that one is not a favorite of mine either.

The Honeymooners to me, were a 1950s version of" All in the family"

E.R .- I'm into the medical genre, yet for some reason , this show had no appeal to me.
Modern Family- Some of the characters are annoying, plus the fact it uses the camera shake technique

That Girl- Marlo Thomas is an excellent actress, but I just don't like the show

Threes Company- Eh. This show is just boring

Hill Street Blues- Depressing Feeling, Depressing Atmosphere, corrupt cops. I don't know about you, but I hate this stuff

Kojak- I liked Columbo better

J.A.G.- Doesn't appeal to me

Will and Grace Fanatic
