View Full Version : Confirmed: The Olsen Twins Won't be Appearing on "Fuller House"
JamesG 05-22-2015, 06:51 PM "Fuller House" EP Confirms Olsen Twins Not Returning as Michelle
by Andy Swift
5/22/15
Someone tell Danny not to bother saving a seat for Michelle at the Tanner family dinner table. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen aren't set to appear in Netflix’s "Fuller House", according to the series’ executive producer Robert L. Boyett.
“Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how much Full House has meant to them, and they are still very much considered family,” Boyett said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards Fuller House.”
"Fuller House" centers around former "Full House" cast members Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber, now all-grown-up and living together following the death of DJ’s husband. (Don’t worry, it’s not Steve.)
Additional Tanner family members are set to appear throughout the series, though it looks like Michelle won’t be counted among them.

Wow, how original.
It's the same scenario as the original.... Danny is struggling after his wife dies and decides to let Jesse and Joey live with him.
Recycled storyline plots???
JamesG 05-23-2015, 10:51 PM John Stamos on Olsen Twins Not Joining "Fuller House"
by Erik Pedersen
May 22, 2015
Shortly after news of the Olsen twins’ decision broke, a disappointed Stamos weighed on Twitter that he was “heartbroken,” but that he wished the duo well.
"#heartbroken"
"I understand they're in a different place and I wish them the best. I promise you will not be dissapointed with our reunion and spin off!!"
Stamos elaborated on Facebook:
“Just so you reporters know – this is not a money gig for any of us- quite the opposite – we want to give the fans what they deserve for supporting us for so many years- we all just want to have fun – do it in a classy way on Netflix and have a good time - sad that a few don’t share the rest of the cast’s opinion – I can only wish them the best – JS”

spunkygirl 05-25-2015, 04:46 PM I say recast Michelle, since MK and Ashley seem to think they're too good for this
Spark Of Spirit 05-25-2015, 05:47 PM Saw this coming from the initial announcement.
MrCleveland 05-26-2015, 02:50 PM Looks like without Michelle...we have this...

that's right.
I'm really getting sick and tired of the 90's nostalgia, let it rest.
Nickolas086 05-27-2015, 02:44 PM They made their millions from Full House I can see why they don't want to be strap into a commitment doing a TV series that could last five years. I'm surprise they continue to do some acting work in the 2000s. I wonder who buys their fashion and beauty products? I always thought Ashley Olsen was the cute one.
ilovestamos234 05-29-2015, 01:13 PM I'm over them anyway.
ilovestamos234 05-29-2015, 01:14 PM It's like the creator of this video could see into the future! Love it!

tlc38tlc38 06-03-2015, 10:07 AM So basically everyone from the original series is coming back except for the Olsens?
Is Steve coming back or was he the husband that died?
What about Nicky and Alex?

It was mentioned that Steve is not the husband who died, but there has been no word on Scott coming back. John Stamos is EP, but I haven't seen confirmation that he will be reprising onscreen.
Also, no word on Nicky and Alex. Everyone else is set to come back.

Jodie Sweetin says of the Olsen twins not participating in the Full House revival: "The Michelle character is still going to have a presence. It's not like we're not talking about her." She adds: "I love and support (Mary-Kate and Ashley), and I think we're going to be just fine."
Edward216 06-11-2015, 03:00 AM OK so I wish them well but I have to say I don't really see the point in doing a reunion series, I might try to catch an episode here or there but that's it.
Number two, I'm so over Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen anyways. They obviously think they're so much better than everybody else, and they both look like a couple of sticks. They need to eat already. And wasn't one of them dating a man old enough to be her father? Gross.
Three, why on earth would they need both of the Olsen twins back for this series when they played ONE character as very young children, Michelle Tanner and she wasn't a twin! So really they'd only need Mary Kate or Ashley as an adult and not both of them. Asking both of them back makes absolutely no sense to me. Does anybody else agree with me? They needed twins to play Michelle on the original Full House because she was so young and because the way the child labor laws are either twin could only work a few hours a day and that's why they always have twins for playing very young children on TV shows.

littletydramon 06-13-2015, 08:11 PM Yah. I saw them not returning a mile away. maybe they could get them to have a few call ins or something in an episode.
JO Sweet Heart 06-16-2015, 05:49 PM I am really tired of people thinking that Mary-Kate & Ashley do nothing but turn up their nose at the show now. I don't believe that is what they are doing at all. What I believe they are doing now is trying to have as normal of a life as they possibly can have for themselves considering their past and in my opinion, they have every right to go down such a road if they choose to. They couldn't make that decision for themselves when they were babies and of course that decision was not made for them back then by whoever decided that their lives be spent in front of a camera and so they are making that decision for themselves now.
God bless you and them always!!! :) :) :)
Holly (a day one fan of the girls)
P.S. I would love to see one of them appear on the new show as Michelle once if it can't be the both of them and they can't be shown more, but if they both choose not to have anything to do with it, I respect their decision 100%.
Blackout 06-30-2015, 09:11 PM the lack of Olsen twins is great

I agree. It's their choice. If they don't want to do it, I don't hold it against them.

Netflix’s Ted Sarandos said at the TV Critics press tour that all hope is not lost on getting Mary-Kate and Ashley involved.

I agree. I definitely hope that if the show gets picked up for a second season that one of them will change their mind and agree to appear in an episode, but if that doesn't ever happen then I respect their choice.
Dan Tullis 11-01-2015, 04:16 PM I like the Olsen's just fine. Maybe they just didn't want to be in the presence of Candace Cameron Bure, she probably told them they were both going to hell if they didn't subscribe to her version of Christianity.
Blonde Ambition 01-03-2016, 08:00 PM I loved the original Full House, but this I am extremely skeptical about. Having pretty much the same plot with the 3 girls(DJ, Stephanie, and Kimmy Gibbler) doesn't give me good vibes for the future of this show.
tenter 01-04-2016, 07:06 PM Maybe this is what happens when Nickelodeon will never air Mary Kate/Ashley Olsens archive anymore since last May.
Even if Mary-Kate and Ashley did actually want to return, how exactly would either of them be utilized? It isn't like you need two people (TV shows or movies normally use twins for baby parts to get around child labor laws) to play Michelle anymore since both of them are adults.
Yong Fang 01-07-2016, 06:17 AM Actually having them both come back would be cool because I would utilize both of them in different scenes, amd let the viewer figure out which twin is which. Usually people can tell the diffrerence though.
Ihavealife2uknow 01-07-2016, 10:37 PM I'd say have Michelle in two episodes, Mary-Kate plays her in one and Ashley in the other...but I imagine they would have did the scene switch thing like they used to.
