Is that movie, starring Martin Lawrence and Will Smith, coming to theatres ASAP in order to complete the trilogy?

Bad Boys III has been in the works since 2008. It didn't happen yet because of timing and due to Michael Bay's and Will Smith's high salary demands (which is why Smith isn't going to star in Independence Day 2).

Smith then revived Men in Black in 2012, so Bad Boys III got stalled again. He apparently is working on a sequel to I Am Legend now and Bay's been raking in the dough from the Transformers movies.

So it looks to me that Bad Boys III is on the back burner.




The most recent news I was able to find was Martin Lawrence saying on "Conan", during an Aug. 2014 appearance, that Bad Boys III is "in the works."

That's not really anything new since everyone's been saying "in the works" for years.

Alright, but don't let this BB3 situation continue to postpone too long. I know they need money, but that should not take too long at all.

Missed having Detectives Burnett and Lowrey in your life? Well get ready for not one, but two more doses of the cop duo. Sony announced release dates for 16 films through 2019, including two Bad Boys sequels.

Bad Boys 3, which will be directed by Joe Carnahan — not Michael Bay — is scheduled for Feb. 7, 2017, while Bad Boys 4 will kick down the door on July 3, 2019.

Three is good enough and this third should be the final for both Martin and Will.

Detectives Burnett and Lowery’s new case has an official name.

Sony has titled Bad Boys III as Bad Boys for Life, EW confirmed. The name change comes with the project moving closer to reality with a Jan. 12, 2018 release in mind, a source tells EW.



The new title is a fitting throwback to 2003’s Bad Boys II where star Will Smith tells his cop partner Martin Lawrence, “We ride together, we die together. Bad boys for life.”

The two will reprise the roles they debuted in 1995’s Bad Boys — Michael Bay directed that movie and the sequel. The Grey’s Joe Carnahan is in the director’s chair for Bad Boys for Life.



Bad Boys 4 is currently slated for July 3, 2019.

Bad Boys For Life could be on life support.

Over the last few months, the long-gestating third installment in the Martin Lawrence and Will Smith-led franchise has lost its director and release date. Now, 14 years after Bad Boys II, even one of the stars is questioning whether the film ever gets made.



“I don’t think we’re going to get one, not the way everything’s turning out,” Lawrence tells EW. “Will is off doing another movie, and I don’t think it’s going to happen.”

As is Lawrence, should it defy his expectations and become a reality. “I’m there, I’m ready right now,” he laughs. “If they wanted to do it, I’m ready, but I don’t have control of that. That’s the studio’s decision.”

Bad Boys for Life is back from the dead.

The planned third installment of the action-packed buddy-cop franchise starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence has been given a new release date of Jan. 17, 2020, Sony Pictures announced Wednesday.




Now slated to arrive nearly 17 years after Bad Boys II hit theaters, the long-gestating threequel has endured several false starts and was pulled from the studio’s release calendar last August. That same month, Lawrence even told EW, “I don’t think we’re going to get one, not the way everything’s turning out.”

But it looks like you can’t keep a good Bad Boy down. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Black, Gangsta) are on board to direct the new movie.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are officially ready to be bad boys for life.

It’s been a long road for Bad Boys for Life, the long-gestating follow-up to 2003’s Bad Boys II, but after repeatedly being added and pulled from Sony’s release calendar and Lawrence even saying that the project looked unlikely, the film is finally a go, according to its titular duo.



The day after Lawrence posted a picture of himself with Smith and said, “It’s official,” Smith shared his excitement in a video with Lawrence on Instagram, enthusiastically repeating the same line.

“It’s been a LOOOONG time Coming,” wrote Smith alongside the video. “But now it’s Here! @BadBoys For Life! We back!!”
