Janice 03-24-2002, 11:35 AM This week, I rented The Last Castle, Hearts in Atlantis, Riding in Cars with Boys, Rock Star and Training Day--all good movies.
Captain Corelli's Mandolin--with Nicholas Cage and Penelope Cruz--yawn.

oooh! I saw that movie!! It was good.
Not really scary, though. Atleast I didn't
think so.
MyStErIoUs ChIck 03-24-2002, 02:28 PM I recently rented "Meet The Parents" because I never got
around to seeing it before and it was so funny. One
of my favorite parts is when the Father is talking to his
daughter about the cat being the ring barer (sp?) for her
wedding and she says "I don't want that stupid cat in
my wedding!" So the Father goes "Stupid cat? stupid cat?!
What do you mean stupid cat?!? That cat's been like a
brother to you!!". haha! I don't know why,
but I crack up uncontrollably every time he says that.
I guess it's just funny that he's so obsessed with that
friggen potty trained cat. :rotflmao:

I rented it too, but I didn't have time to see it. But I saw it before anyway. :)
This weekend I rented "Wet Hot American Summer," starring Janeane Garofalo and David Hyde Pierce. It's a very funny parody of the "Summer Camp" sex comedy movies of the 70's like "Meatballs." Very funny.
Kay Scarpetta 03-24-2002, 03:04 PM "Angel Eyes" w/J Lo, and "House on Haunted Hill". I've seen HOHH before but I love it. I think I'm going to buy the DVD

Ooh, I have two friends in that.
Anyway, I rented Don't Say A Word (It could have been good, but it fell short.)
Captain Correli's little gutiar' so that I could laugh at Lion-Fish- I mean Penelope Cruz.
and Meet The Parents- Which was great.
JoPol_wannabe 03-24-2002, 03:57 PM Just the other day I rented Rat Race and I loved it. Now if your one of those people who likes Jim Carrey movies or Austin Powers then you'll like this movie beacuse it has the same type of humor.
ClassicComedyFan2 03-24-2002, 04:39 PM Can't say I've rented any lately, but I have watched a few on TV in the past 2 weeks:
The Brady Bunch Movie (1995) - Actually surprised me with clever parodies, nifty cameos and good puns. A tone down of the innuendo would have made it even bettter. ***+
Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas (2000) - It is actually very good. Lots of "stone-age changes", sight gags and funny dialogue. ***
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II (1991) - Brought back memories of my childhood fandom of the cartoon. Cleverly-written and witty. ***
Mr. Magoo (1997) - It's alright. Could have been better, but it has many laughs. **+
Facts of Life, The (1960) - Although amusing at a few points, its a gross underuse of the combined comedic talents of Bob Hope and Lucy Ball. Slapstick, anyone? *+
The last movie I rented was The Devil Wears Prada. I thought it was very good. I may go check out some movies at Hollywood Video tommorrow.
comedyfreak 04-13-2007, 04:15 AM I rented Babel and The Prestige through netflix. I didn't like The Prestige, too much jumping from the past to present it got confusing. Babel was pretty good.
