This is my first Division Fan fic so don't expect it to be too great.
Even though I have done FOL fan fic's.
here it is:

The Shooting.
At Jinny’s apartment she is inside unpacking her things that she had brought from her dad’s house from when she was staying there.
Jinny: (to herself) where should I put the TV? Maybe I could put it over there by the fireplace? (Note: the apartment building is two stories and Jinny is on the second story so she can have a fireplace) Yea I think I will. (She puts the TV over by the fireplace across from the couch.) Well that’s every thing. (She sits down on her couch and turns on her TV, and begins to flip channels until she comes to The Facts of Life) oooooh I love this show.
(Phone rings)
Jinny: hello?
Captain: hey Jinny, I need you and Magda to come in to work today so you guys can go to Sunny Brooke High and give them the DARE assembly, I know it is your day off and all and I would have CD and Nate do it but they are off on an assignment.
Jinny: ok, have you called Mag?
Captain: no, I was hoping you would do that for me.
Jinny: no problem, Bye
Captain: Bye.
(They hang up)
(Jinny picks up the phone again and calls Magda)
Jinny: hello?
Mag: hey Jin.
Jinny: Mag, we have to go into work today to do a DARE assembly at Sunny Brooke High. Cap just called and told me. Do you want me to pick you up? (Note: yes Jinny does have her Mustang back)
Mag: sure.
Jinny: k I well see you in 20min. bye
Magda: bye.
(They hang up)
(At Magda’s house)
Magda: hey Gabe, I have to work so could you watch Ben?
Gabe: sure
Magda: Ben I have to work so your dad is going to watch you. Ok?
Ben: ok.
(Doorbell rings)
Magda: that’s probably Jinny. (Opens door) Come in I’m almost ready.
Jinny: ok.
Ben: Hey Jinny, will you tell me a story?
Jinny: I don’t have time now but maybe if you’re good for your dad I will tell you one when we get back.
Ben: ok.
Magda: I’m ready.
Jinny: k lets go, Bye guys.
Ben and Gabe: bye.
(They leave)
(At the Division)
CD: hey cap, we found out some more on the Jewel theft and killing.
Cap: good what is it?
Nate: Well we found some fingerprints on a Diamond necklace that was dropped by the door. The prints are down in the lab now.
CD: they are looking for witnesses that saw the person leave after the shots were heard.
Nate: Now all we have to do is wait.
Cap: good, CD can I see you in my office.
CD: sure
(They go to the captain’s office.)
CD: what is it?
Captain: I just wanted to know if you need a new partner or if Nate is working out?
CD: No I don’t need a new partner Nate is great. Thanks for asking though.
Cap: no problem.
(CD leaves the captain’s office.)
Jinny: well Mag we better be on our way.
Mag: yep I put all the DARE packets in your car.
(They leave the building)

Jinny: haha, but it was true I did know all that they were telling us.
Mag: you couldn’t of known everything.
Jinny: I did, I knew it all cause of my dad being a cop.
Mag: Well we’re here.
(At the station)
Nate: (Looks really nervus) uhh CD I was wondering if you wanted to uhh go out with me for dinner tonight?
CD: umm sure I’d Love to. (To herself: YES)
Nate: do you want me to pick you up at you’re place or do you want to leave after work?
CD: how about you pick me up around 7.
Nate: ok
CD: By the way, where are you taking me?
Nate: It’s a surprise.
CD: ooooh a surprise.
(At the High School)
Jinny: ahh this reminds me of my horrible childhood.
Mag: come on school couldn’t of been that bad for you.
Jinny: you don’t know the half of it.
(They head to the principals office)

Jinny: We have everything we need to start the demonstration in my car all we have to do is set it up.
Principal: ok the gym is right to the left of my office.
Mag: ok, we will go set up.
(Back at the station)
Nate: we better get going we have a homicide at 31st and Falcon St.
CD: ok let me get my coat on and we can go.
(At the school Jinny and Magda are beginning the assembly)
Jinny: Hi I’m Inspector Jinny Exstead and this is Inspector Magda Remeraz. We are going to talk to you about Drugs.
Magda: Your teacher have handed out to you the D.A.R.E booklets. We would like for you to turn to page 3 of the booklet. (The kids turn to that page when some kid yells gun. And all the kids go crazy and start to run around. Some of them are smart enough to drop to the ground incase a bullet is shot. While all of this is going on the kid with the gun got out of the gym.)
Jinny: Everyone calm down, and Stay in here. (to Mag) some of the are already out in the halls. You stay here while I go out there.
Mag: Ok be careful.
Jinny: When am I not.
Mag: (thought about making a smart remark but decides not to.) k
Jinny: (goes out into the hall and turns a corner when she sees a kid about 16 years old holding a gun.) put the gun down.
Kid: no. (kid shoots Jinny)
Jinny: (yells) HELP!!!!
Mag: (runs out of the auditorium and sees the kid and arrests him) then gives him to the cops waiting at the door, and run’s to find Jin lying on the floor with a bullet wound threw her chest.) OMG HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jin come on talk to me. (Crying) please!
Jin: (weak) Mag?!?!? Help. (Goes unconscious.)

Mag: HELP, HELP OFFICER DOWN!!!!!!
(The medics come and put Jinny on a stretcher and try to help her regain consciousness. And take her to a ambulance waiting outside since Magda and Jinny took Jinny’s car and she didn’t have a key she had to hot-wire the Mustang, and follow the ambulance)
Mag: (in the car) I better call the captain and tell her to call everyone to the hospital. (She dials the captain’s number)
Kate: Hello?
Mag: hi, Captain it’s Magda, There was a shooting at the school we were at it happened at the beginning of the demonstration, and Jinny was shot. (Magda is balling into the phone)
Kate: OMG I will call everyone and tell them to go to the hospital and I will be there as soon as I am done calling every one.
Mag: (sobers up a little.) ok. Bye (hangs up)
(The station)
Kate: (dials number) Hi John, It’s Kate.
John Sr: Hey Kate what’s up?
Kate: uh John I hate to be the one to tell you this but there was a shooting at the school Jin and Mag were at and Jinny was shot.
John Sr: Oh my, I am leavening for the hospital right now, thanks for telling me, Bye
Kate: bye (she hangs up)
Kate: (dials a number) CD, It’s the Captain, Jinny has been shot and is in the hospital.
CD: We are on our way there. (Hangs up)
Kate: (to her self) Now on my way out I have to go tell Casey and John Jr.
(Kate leaves their floor and heads down to the ground level where Casey and John Jr should be.)
(On the ground level)
Casey: hey Cap.
Kate: hey Casey, um Jinny was shot at a school shooting and she is in the hospital.
Casey: OMG can I have a ride to the hospital cuz my car is in the shop?
Kate: sure let me go tell you’re brother.
Casey: ok I will wait here.
Kate: (goes to tell John Jr.) Oh there you are.
John Jr: hi Cap
Kate: John, I have something to tell you, umm Jinny was shot in a school shooting.
John Jr: (surprisingly worried) is she ok?
Kate: I don’t know all I know is that she was shot. Meet you at the hospital?
John Jr: yea I’ll meet you there. (He leaves for the hospital)
(Kate goes back to Casey)
Kate: lets go.
Casey: ok.
(They begin to walk out to Kate’s car)
Kate: hey Casey can I ask you something?
Casey: yea sure.
Kate: how come you and Jinny are so close and why didn’t you come with me to tell John Jr?
Casey: I will answer you’re second question first. I didn’t go with you to see John Jr because he hates me because I’m Gay. Does that answer both questions?
Kate: yea, I have one more thing, my daughter just told me she is gay and I have no clue what to do I still love her and have nothing against her being gay or anyone being gay.
Casey: just treat her the way you would normally treat her and show her you care. That’s all she needs. I should know the only person who treats me well and shows me they care anymore is Jinny. Her and my mom were the only ones.
Kate: well if you need anything feel free to come to me.
Casey: well that makes two people now.
Kate: I knew your mother she was a good person.
Casey: thank you.
(They arrive at the hospital about the same time everyone else does, except for Magda and Teddy (yes she is dating him.) because Magda called him.)

Captain: Magda do you know where she was shot at?
Magda: yea sadly I do. She was shot in the chest I’m not sure if the bullet hit her heart or not.
CD: oh god.
Nate: (comforts CD)
Riana: oh my.
(John Sr and Casey: both have tears in their eyes while John Jr just stands stone faced.)
(The doctor comes out)
Doctor: Exstead?
(Everyone stands up)
Doctor: well she was shot in the heart and has lost a lot of blood we may need some blood donations, luckily we got the bullet out and got her sewn up but she will have a tough time recovering and may not recover so we recommend blood donations.
(Everyone agrees to see if she is his or her blood type.)

(They Follow)
Magda: What if Jinny dies?
Casey: we can’t talk like that and she’s strong she can’t die, and if she did I have no clue what I’d do!
John Sr: Casey’s right we can’t talk like that. Just keep your faith.
CD: yea. We will.
Nate: yea (sitting next to CD on one of the sofas holding her)
Magda: ok you convinced me for now.
(1 hour later everyone that went with the doctor is back)
(Doctor comes out)
Doctor: She is not awake at the time but is pretty stable she can have 1 visitor at a time.
Kate: Thank you doctor. Who wants to go first?
John Jr: I do.
(Everyone is surprised by him wanting to go first but lets him because they this happens once in a life time.)

I know I haven’t been a very good brother beating you and Casey but I love you both very much and I want you to wake up soon, I know that I never talk about mom and all but now that I think about it I think we should talk about her more often, and I do love Casey even though you all think I don’t I just wanted what was best for him and at the time I didn’t think that was best for him but now I have come to accept that, and I am going to tell him as soon as I leave your room. I’m leavening now please wake up soon!
(Back in the waiting room)
John Jr: Casey can I speak with you alone?
Casey: (not quite sure what to say) uhh yea sure.
(They go out side and sit on a bench)
Casey: what do you want?
John Jr: nothing I just needed to talk to you, I promised Jinny that after I left her room I would tell you something.
Casey: (realizing he is serious) what?
John Jr: this is hard for me to put into words but I will try. I wanted to let you know that even though you are gay I do love you very much and the reason I had beat you was because I was trying to look out for your best interests and I didn’t realize that this is want you wanted and now I respect your gayness. I also think that we all should talk about mom more and remember her.
Casey: (has a few tears in his eyes) I love you too and I also think we should talk about mom more.
John Jr: good, lets start now. I really miss the way she smiled.
Casey: yea and the way she would always look beautiful in whatever she was wearing. Jinny reminds me a lot of her.
John Jr: yea she does.
Casey: can you think of why she did it?
John Jr: no Casey I can’t think of any reason but I always thought I made her do it.
Casey: none of us made her do it, well at least that is what dad said at Jinny’s intervention.
John Jr: sorry I was so rude when I interrupted the intervention.
Casey: it’s ok. We found out the real reason Jinny drank.
John Jr: what is that?
Casey: Because she thought mom’s suicide was her fault.

I wanted to let you know that I am trying to stop smoking and drinking because I know it is hurting loved ones. I also wanted to let you know that I have lung cancer and it is to far along to cure, I promise I will tell John Jr and Casey soon. See you later.

At least you were smart enough to quit drinking after your first intervention it took me 2 to stop. I really hope you wake up soon we all miss you but if you don’t we will all miss you and have a good time up there with your mother she was a wonderful woman.

Dad has lung cancer if he didn’t already tell you. I need you to get better, how will I survive without you? I never told you this but I think of you like mom you were mom to me for a few years. I want you to live! I’m going to go now.

Nate: I’ll go. (He goes in to Jinny's room) Hey Jin, I know we haven’t known each other very long but so far you are a great person and I respect you. The entire division would be lost if you left us. Everyone is waiting for you to wake up. Why disappoint them? I’m going to go now. (He goes back to the waiting room.)
Nate: who wants to go next?
Riana: I will. (She goes in and talks to Jin. (Authors note: I am not going to type Riana cuz I don't know much about her.)
(15 minutes later Riana comes out)
Teddy: I’m going to go now. (He goes in) Hi Jinny, I know I said that I didn’t want to be your friend anymore but I was pissed and I was wrong and I can’t let you die sad. I really want to get back together with you I just am not sure I can take the pressure you deserve some one better than me. I would die if you die. I want you to live! Please wake up for me! I-I love you. I’m going to leave your room now but I will never leave you forever.
(Teddy leaves the room with tears rolling down his face)
(Back in the waiting room)
Teddy: she looks so pale.
Cap: yea she does.
Mag: do you think she heard us?
Cap: I know she did.
Casey: yea she had to.
John Sr: I could have done a lot more when she was younger and this may have never happened or she would have never drank and it would have raised her chances of living.
John Jr: It’s not your fault. It’s that piece of sh** that shot her, it’s his fault.
CD: yea John Jr is right.
Nate: CD can I talk to you for a second outside?
CD: sure lets go (they go outside) what is it?
Nate: why isn’t her mother here?
CD: her mom committed suicide when she was 14, which is why she drank. She is the one that found her and she used Alcohol to forget the memory.
Nate: omg. No wonder she is so sarcastic.
CD: yea I don't advise mentioning it around her she will get real uptight.
Nate: ok, wow 14 that's real young.
CD: yea it is.
Nate: lets go back in.
CD: ok. (They go back in)
(Inside)
Doctor: Exstead?
(Everyone stands up)
Doctor: well she should wake up in about an hour, but…
Mag: oh no buts are never good.
Doctor: your right ma’am. She is going to die her heart isn’t strong enough to withstand the blood loss, she probably won’t make it threw the night you will have about 5 hours from the time she wakes up until the time she dies.
Cap: ok, thank you for all your effort Doctor.
Doctor: Thank you, I’m sorry for your loss. (He leaves)
(1 hour later)
Doctor: She is awake you may start to say good-bye now. (Leaves)
CD: may I go first?
Everyone: sure.
CD: (goes in) hey Jin.
Jinny: hi CD how’s it going?
CD: I wish you could stay longer, and I am going out with Nate now, you are the only one who knows because I know you can keep a secret, but I plan on telling the others soon.
Jinny: good, I wish I could stay longer too but I can’t. I will miss you a lot. I will always watch over you.
CD: thanks. I will miss you too. Remember when you first came to the Division.
Jinny: yea.
****Flash Back****
Jinny: is this where I’m supposed to be?
CD: are you Jinny Exstead?
Jinny: the one and only.
CD: yep you’re in the right place.
Jinny: good what do I do?
CD: go talk to the Captain and find out your assignment.
Jinny: ok.
****Present****
Jinny: those were the days.
CD: yea they were. I better go so everyone else has his or her turn.
Jinny: ok Bye I love you, BTW good luck with Nate you two will make a good couple.
CD: I love you too, Thanks, Bye. (Leaves the room with tears rolling down her face.)
(Waiting room)
John Sr: I’m going in now. (He goes in) Hey Jinny Girl.
Jinny: (has some tears in her eyes) hi daddy.
John Sr: (has tears rolling down his face) you haven’t called me daddy in a long time. I have something to tell you.
Jinny: what?
John Sr: I have Cancer and it is too far along to cure so I am going to be joining you in 1 month.
Jinny: omg, well at least we will be together when we are up there.
John Sr: yea we will Jinny Girl. (He hugs her)
Jinny: (sobbing) I will miss you for that one-month daddy.
John Sr: I will to. I hope you have a good time with mom until I get up there.

Casey: (laughs) don’t worry we will. I should go now. I will miss you so much. (Crying) I Love you.
Jinny: (also crying) I will miss you too. I Love you more than the world.
Casey: (wipes her tears away with his finger) bye. (Leaves the room)

John Jr: I want to go. (He goes in to Jinny's room) hey sis.
Jinny: hey John, I heard you and Casey were on speaking terms and I’m glad you are going to stop drinking.
John: do you know the reason I started to drink?
Jinny: no, why?
John: because I thought mom’s suicide was my fault, when I told Casey he said that that is the reason you drank too, he told me that it was neither of our faults so I told myself that if you can stop so can I. I guess we do have something in common after all.
Jinny: I guess we do. What made you and Casey get along so well?
John: well the only reason I love Casey even though you all think I don’t I just wanted what was best for him and at the time I didn’t think that was best for him but now I have come to accept that.
Jinny: that's good, and I know you love him. I will miss you (has tears streaming down her face again.)
John: (wipes her tears away) I will miss you too, say hi to mom for me while you’re up there. I Love you.

Kate: Do you want to know the reason I have always been so hard on you.

Kate: it’s because I care about you, I didn’t want you to make the same mistakes that I did, I’m glad it only took you one intervention to stop drinking it took me 2, that's why I gave Magda the idea for it. The other reason is I know that you didn’t get much discipline when you were younger which didn’t help you back then so I have been given it to you because I can tell it’s helping you.
Jinny: (has more tears streaming down her face) thank you.
Kate: (Comforts her) you’re welcome. I knew your mother she was a great person.
Jinny: Thank you. I will be sure to say hi to her for you.

Kate: congratulations.

Jinny: I have 10 minutes left until (makes a choking noise and everyone laughs)
John Sr: you can always lighten the mood.
Jinny: I’m glad you think that.
Mag: well I guess this is it. I love you soo much.
Kate: You are a great person and I love you.
John Jr: I love you Jinny you are a great sister.
Casey: you are the best Jinny and I love you soo much!
John Sr: you were the best daughter I ever had.
Jinny: I’m your only daughter dad.
John Sr: oh yea you are. But you are still the best daughter and I love you soo much.
Jinny: (starting to fade away) I will miss you all soo much and I…love…you…all. (Flat line)
Magda, Casey, John Sr, John Jr, and Kate are all sobbing over Jinny being gone. Then leave the room.

San Francisco News says: Jinny Exstead a Inspector in the 9th division was shot by a 18 year old boy at a high school while her and her partner were giving a DARE program the boy also shot and killed 5students. Kate McCafferty comments on the Inspector “Jinny Exstead was a good person, and good Inspector, Co-worker, Employee, Family member and a true friend she will me missed dearly.” Says the captain.
