AB 02-01-2008, 07:06 PM Ellie, she was cute and funny. I also liked Thelma Lou! Zoneboy 02-01-2008, 07:16 PM Too bad we never saw Juanita so Ellie get's my vote. tanquant 02-01-2008, 08:34 PM Ellie. Helen had a little bit of an attitude problem. bingbangbaby 02-01-2008, 08:38 PM Ellie. Helen had a little bit of an attitude problem. She did! That jealousy thing was over the top. I don't know how she hung on to Andy when she was always assuming the worst like that. I liked Ellie too. OH Nuts! 02-01-2008, 11:42 PM I dunno I sorta liked Helen Maynard 02-01-2008, 11:46 PM What, no Peggy option? She was certainly the best looking of them. treky 02-02-2008, 02:49 AM Ellie Scoobiedoo30 02-02-2008, 03:11 AM Hellen tanquant 02-02-2008, 04:48 PM She did! That jealousy thing was over the top. I don't know how she hung on to Andy when she was always assuming the worst like that. I liked Ellie too. Me either. She got mad at him just because he called her "third party" instead of using her name. He didn't mean any harm by the way he said it. It kills me when he comes into the courthouse and she leaves out saying "the name is Helen Crump C-R-U-M-P!!! and she called Thelma Lou childish:rolleyes: Scoobiedoo30 03-01-2008, 02:50 AM Helen goingghostal 03-02-2008, 02:21 PM What, no Peggy option? She was certainly the best looking of them. NO DOUBT!!!! Peggy was HOT!!! And what? NO Daphne??? LOL! BarneyFife 03-03-2008, 05:11 AM Ellie. Helen had a little bit of an attitude problem. Yes she did. I really liked Ellie Walker. tdr 03-03-2008, 05:45 PM Helen had a little bit of an attitude problem. It's hard to argue with that, but it seems everyone involved in the relationships-- Andy, Helen, Ellie, Peggy, Mary... Barney, Thelma Lou, unseen Juanita-- had an "attitude problem." Andy claimed because Ellie gave Opie a free ice cream cone that she was making a "down payment on a husband." That's attitude on his part, while on Ellie's part, when she heard this she made him some concoction that burned his tongue in revenge. She always seemed to be a threat to Andy, as Helen was also, too often. Thelma Lou may have been basically steady, but she could be oversensitive at times, and did like to play Barney's ego against her own; a few times it's even implied that she was the 'aggressor' in the relationship, when we see Barney emerge from her dark living room with lipstick all over his face. Essentially, as this is comedy, they are all given to suspicion and overreaction at times, or else where would be laughs be? One thing to think about, though-- as Barney/Thelma Lou and Andy/Helen so often mention going to the diner, they should have met up with Juanita, the waitress, there. Andy, of course, knew that Barney saw Juanita and 'sweet-talked' her on the phone, but what about Thelma Lou (and Helen)? Did Juanita and Barney manage to keep what was between them hidden, without even giveaway looks? Since Barney couldn't hide anything about what he was thinking-- often the funniest of his characteristics-- how was this managed? Maynard 03-04-2008, 11:12 AM Juanita actually worked at another diner, I believe. The one out on the highway that the truck drivers frequented. dav4463 03-06-2008, 06:16 AM Thelma Lou was real cute. I liked Mary, the one that Andy courted, and Barney showed up with the picnic basket and all the townsfolks. I also liked the woman that got lost in the woods with Andy and Helen got mad at him. Moonshine Moo 03-07-2008, 12:21 AM Peggy McMillan was the best for Andy BarneyFife 03-07-2008, 01:42 PM Peggy McMillan was the best for Andy She was pretty. AMSOM 03-10-2008, 12:13 AM with everyone complaining about Helen I am surprized she has as many votes. Only one away from Ellie and more then Thelma Lou. Personally I liked Helen, the woman had class and she wasn't going to take Andy's bad habits no matter what.... AMSOM is "A Mayberry State of Mind" http://amayberrystateofmind.com Abbie 07-28-2008, 01:32 PM I liked Peggy. I liked the soft southern accent and the chemistry between them. Cloud9 Lorraine 03-18-2009, 09:16 PM I think Thelma Lou was the nicest. We never saw Jaunita, so I can't comment on her. Andy had the worst taste in women---both Ellie and Helen would turn on him in a minute and tell him off. I thought Helen was bad, but after seeing the eps with Ellie again, she had a real bad attitude too. Both were pretty viscous and relentless. Maybe Andy should have looked in Raleigh or Mt. Pilot for his dates. August West 03-19-2009, 11:38 AM For a good time...Give me one of the Fun Girls icecream 03-19-2009, 01:57 PM Ellie comedyfreak 03-20-2009, 05:32 AM Helen is my favorite, with Thelma Lou a close second. |
