"Jeopardy!" Criticized as Sexist for "What Women Want" Category
10/1/14

What is an ill-advised "Jeopardy!" category? To some critics, the answer was on display during Monday's episode.
The venerable quiz show is under fire after a category called "What Women Want" has been slammed as sexist by critics and Twitter users.
The category featured questions about tight jeans, Pilates and crossword puzzles, all of which were given as examples of things that women consider priorities.
One clue in the category was: "Some help around the house; would it kill you to get out the Bissell Bagless Canister one of these every once in a while?" The answer was a vacuum cleaner.
Twitter was abuzz with complaints about the segment, as "Chicago P.D." star Sophia Bush and "The View" co-host Rosie O'Donnell were among the celebs to weigh in.
".@Jeopardy? For a "smart" show, you just got srsly stupid RT @DJRumspringa: ARE YOU SERIOUS @Jeopardy?? pic.twitter.com/LEZcSw8K5A #SexismIsUgly"
"I’ll take equal pay for $500." - @Rosie on the @Jeopardy “What Women Want” category. #Jeopardy #TheView"
"The Late Show with David Letterman" lampooned the category with its Top Ten list Wednesday.
"Jeopardy!" reps did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
