The actor Angus Lennie,famous for his role as Steve McQueen's sidekick Archibald Ives in the classic film The Great Escape,has died in a London nursing home aged 84. He also played Scottish chef Shughie McFee in the television soap opera "Crossroads",which ran from 1964-88. Who was that American actor that dressed up as a German during the escape? I think he was supposed to be british or Canadian for the movie. I saw him in all kinds of tv shows during the 60s-70s.

I found that actor I was looking for, his name was Lawrence Montaigne. He played " Haynes " and was born in 1931 and is still alive. I found info on the other actors from that movie.
