Petticoat/Hillbillies/Acres all had an awesome sense of chaos. I use a term from one of these shows almost on a daily basis. Ellayn O'Kosh 08-21-2016, 06:21 PM Many series associate hootie with owls. IIRC, that is south east rural, and even Ens. Parker teased Capt. Binghamton about a "who who who-tie owl" {McHale's Navy, late season one, "The Hillbillies of the 73"**. "Hooters" probably became disparaging with the nightspot, wherever it may be, in about the late 1980s. DJM77 08-21-2016, 07:48 PM This reminds me of something. A few years ago a long time resident of the town that I live in, upset with the direction that the town has taken, posted a sign along the highway, right by the entrance of town. The sign said "Welcome to Hooterville." tlc38tlc38 12-24-2016, 11:15 AM ^I'd be proud to live in Hooterville. CosmicCharlie 04-08-2026, 08:57 PM The More Hooters the better - Hooters Sell ! |
