You ought to know #1 it dealt with racism. TVFactFan 07-29-2014, 11:58 PM The show didn't deal with a lot of controversial issues like All in the family, Maude, and Good Times myowndrownedworld 07-30-2014, 11:46 AM Racism seem to be a more key thing. Sometimes i felt the show tried to shy away from other things The two part episode where Lionel couldn't be bothered to write a term paper about homosexual themes in a book and Mr Jefferson paid for someone to write it for himself. This would of been a good time to see what the characters thought were on homosexuality. But it didn't. boechsner 07-30-2014, 12:52 PM The show dealt with a lot of social issues throughout its run: Racism, interracial marriage, homosexuality, transgender issues, sex discrimination, suicide, gang violence, economic issues, poverty, unions, impotency, multiple personalities, alcoholism, gun control Did the show deal with specific socially important issues from time to time?
