Do you think there is a reason that alot of sitcoms got rid of the studio audience since the 2000's? Is it cheaper to do a show without the audience and the single camera mode? Just wondering...

James28 06-06-2014, 09:13 PM Are there any reasons why the multi-camera style of filming is cheaper than the single-camera style of filming? Dude111 06-08-2014, 03:26 PM There are those that work an audience and others that don't need it and I like them both.Yes you said it!!! MASH didnt need an audience laughing..... IT WAS A MEDICAL PARK IN A WAR!!!!!!! -- Nothing funny about anything that happend there! Coffeecup 06-09-2014, 04:02 PM I watched the other night, Jennifer Falls which I was told is Single camera. I would think it would be harder for a single camera for it is a stop and start set up. Aren't multi camera shows usually with a studio audience so it kinda like a play you are seeing. . I love Lucy, All in the Family, Hot in Cleveland to name a few. But as for cost, I suppose 3-4 camera operators cost more than one. I would love to see a show being filmed. |
