How strict do you see Archie and Edith being? Do you think they believed in physical punishment? How far do you think they let Gloria go before they punished her?

Probably from time to time. But I see Archie as being more bluster than anything else.

Yes, I think so. Most parents from Archie and Edith's generation spanked their kids. I think even Edith would have supported it if Gloria had done something bad enough. I think both Archie and Edith probably gave Gloria an occasional, mild spanking. Neither would have been brutal. It would have been just enough to teach a lesson. For instance, I can see them spanking her if she had run into the street or something else dangerous. I think Gloria got spankings, but they were rare.

Likely so, there was one instance where Archie was ready to lay into Stephanie PHYSICALLY when she was refusing to go to Ca. if I remember right.
