ok guys, i'm not a great fan fic writer, but i'm bored, so i'm gonna give it a try...

Jinny woke up to the sound of her alarm going off a 7:15AM. She had already hit the snooze time about 4 times and figured that it was time to get up. She pulled herself out of bed and forced herself into the shower. As the water began to hit her face and slowly started waking up. Jinny breathed hard as she realized who she was, where was was, and how she got there. She grabbed the first thing in her closet that matched and just pulled up her hair. It was Friday, no need to get fancy. As she was waiting for her dad to come pick her up and take her to work, she flipped on the TV.
"Are you tired of flabby arms, chucky bellys.."
*flip*
"Next time, on NYPD blue..." (no guys, i don't watch that show, so I don't know the story lines)
Jinny just thought, "If only cop shows portrayed real life." Suddeny she heard her dad come in "Come on Jinny Girl, sorry i'm late"
"Don't worry about it Dad"

Today wasn't her day. She had been feeling sick all day, and couldn't get over this nauseated feeling in her stomach. "Something bad must be going to happen today..."
"Hey Jinny, how ya doing?"
"Fine Raina" Jinny mumbled. She realized she hadn't been the nicest person to Raina since she got back, but she was too tired to care.
"I have a pile of cases and no inspectors on 'em. Nate, CD, there young girl found lying in an alley, bruises, beat ups, possible rape."
"We're on it"
"Jinny, Mag-- Jinny wheres Magda?"
"Ya got me Cap. Haven't heard from her since last night"
"Well, Ic an't send ya on this case alo--"
"I'll be fine. What is it?"
"Break in. Mrs. Watson called it in this morning, said she was spending the night at her daughters, came home and her house was in ruins"
"I can handle it."
"alright, but don't do nothing stupid, and remember, be nice, her house was just robbed"
"I'm always nice!" Jinny stated, somewhat defensivley.


As Jinny was just walking out of The Division she bumped into her favorite pal, Charles.
"Inspector Exstead. May I have a world with you?"
"Sorry, no time, we got cases and remember 'no over time'!"
"Now, Inspector, your job is depending on it"

Sorry boring start, and not too descriptive...see why I don't do hot in Enlgish? lol

Jinny gave Charles a **** eye look. What was he about to tell her? She hasn't done anything wrong, had she?
"Please, have a seat... Jinn--"
"Inspector Exstead"
"...Inspector Exstead, what I'm about to have to tell you isn't easy, but it's not suprising. I'm afraid that with cut backs and with our numbers being so low, that we are going to have to let off a few officiers, and with your...unclear record, we're afraid that you, along with a few others, are going to have to be the first to leave."
Jinny couldn't belive it. Was she just fired? "Are you firing me?"
"I'm afraid so Inspector. You can come by and fill out the paper work for unemployment draw if you would like"
"Who the hell do you think you are? You can't just cut me off, i've worked my ass off for this division--"
"And it's work it's ass off for you Inspector" Charles was getting impatient and his voice was raising, "We have spent far to much time, not to mention money, trying to drag you out of the hole you put yourself into. We can't have officers that don't put their job first. We can't have a drunk on our force."
"I have been sober for 4 months! You can't hold my past against me"
"That's exactly what i'm doing Jinny. I'm holding your entire past against you, even a little incident with a former captain..."
"You are not leggaly intitled to hold that against me"
"I'm not, legally." Jinny just gave him the "jinny stare down"
"Let me walk you out"
"Get your hands off me" Jinny stormed out the door. She got into the elevator and went up to The Division. Finally Magda arrived. "Hey Jinny, Cap told me you are doing hte Mrs. Watson case, want me to come with ya?"
"No you'll be too busy looking for another partner."

Any suggestions?

Her hands were shaking and her heart was pounding. The minute she walked into Charles office she was scared to death and wanted to beg for her job back, but she knew that once she was seen as vulnerable she would never be seen as anything else. She wanted to get away, forget what had happend, forget everything. SHe wanted to forget life, forget the past, forget that she was even alive. She knew what she wanted, god did she know. "Just one...." She grabbed her keys and headed out the door.

---4 hours Earlier---
"Charles, what the hell do you think your doing? YOu have no authority to undermine my power in my own division. In order to fire an officers under my order you have to go through me!" Kate was furious. Though she didn't want to admit, Jinny was one of her best. She wouldn't be easy to replace.
"Kate, i didn't fire Jinny she was layed off. Trust me, I followed the book. Even the DA aggreed with me (I have no clue if that's who he has to go through, but it is now :) )"
"On what grounds?"
"Legal ones. Performance record mainly."
"I will fight this."
"Then let the battle began. Jinny Exstead will NOT be a part of the San Fransico police department as long as I am head of it."
"Then one of you will have to go." Kate knew she was stepping over her boundaries here, she knew that she has to keep her composure.
"I would be careful if I were you Kate, I can take that as a threat."
"Then you'll have to prove it."
Charles knew that this wans't going to be easy, but he knew that he wasn't stepping down. Inspector Exstead had to go, or else. He knew he done the right thing...or at least he hoped he did. If only he knew what kind of hell he was going to start....

Magda coudln't belive her ears. "A new partner? Jinny what the hell are you talking about?"
"You heard me Mag, i've been fired."
"Whha--? Wha... on what grounds?"
"Past Magda, past. 28 days in rehab, months in half way house, AA meetings, all for nothing. My life is being held against me Mag. Being Jinny Exstead has got be fired."
"What are you going to do? YOu can't just walk out, you can fight it."
"Dont' worry Magda, this isn't the last you've heard from me. But if I don't get out of here right now, you might have to arrest me."
"For--?"
"...for the murder of a district supervisor."

----Back to Jinny-----
Jinny had arrived at a bar. She didn't know which one, just not a local one. All she did was got in her car (yes, she now has a car!), blasted the music on, and drove till she was too tired to keep her eyes open. She slowly pushed the door open, suddenly she had flashbacks that she didn't want to be rushing back in.
(twilight song... Jk!)

Her head was spinning, she couldn't think. Everything was a blurr. All she could feel was nothing. Somehow she had made her way out to an ally, the black guy had already left. "What was his name? Jo...no, that's this guy...wait.." She could feel her self falling, she couln'dt barely stand up. She could feel his breath breathing on her. She didn't want to stop it, but she was too tired to stop him. Stopping him would require work, yelling at him would require feeling. She didn't want to feel. She knew what was happneing. They were both drunk, but different. HE was violent. She couldn't stand it any more, she had to get away.
"Stop it-- just....no.....stop"
"Shut the f8uk up"

"Ma'm can I help you?"
Jinny suddenly jolted back. That hadn't happen, that night hadn't happened. "Ma'm?"
She acknowledged the young man in front of her. He looked barely 25. "Umm...yea, just give me a beer"
"Just one?"

Before I know it, there all over each other." Nate and CD has just got back from the crime scene. Nora said that she would send the stats as soon as possible. The case appeared to be and open shut case, whoever did this, wasn't a professional. "I take it you don't know how to read signs," CD laughed. Her career had lightened up so much since Nate became her partner. It was so great to be in a relationship with a guy, and not actually be in a relationship. She really needed an outlet from men, especially with her divorce officially final. Before CD and Nate could even reach the division they already heard yelling. They had just caught the end of Charles and Kate's little "discussion"
"Cap, what happend?" CD never thought she'd see the day when Kate lost her composure.
"Our friend Charles just fired Inspector Exstead."
"Jinny?!" Nate stated, shocked yet not suprised. He hadn't known Jinny well, and he could even admit that he found her very attractive, but from what he had heard, supervisors had been after her. "What are you going to do Cap'n?"
"Fight it. I will not let anybody, not even Charles _(put last name here)_, break up my force."
"We're behind you %100, whatever ya need, we're here for ya"
Kate just smiled, she hadn't realized quite how much support she would need....

"Ma'm i'm afraid i'm going to have to cut you off."
Jinny was pretty wasted. That one beer lead to two and soon lead to nine. "Aren't you cute? You like telling women what to do don't you?" Jinny hadn't practiced her old ways in a while, but she defintley hadn't forgot them. "uhh.." Jinny had caught the young man, Jason, off guard. "uh--, yea, i guess."
"When you get off?"
"Here in a few minutes..." He was defintley getting ideas. He had heard stories like this. The attractive drunk customer, the vulnerable young bar tender, it was all a fantasie. A fantasie that he would give anything to live. "I'm sure I could take off a few minutes early...."
Jinny just smiled. She didn't want to do this, but if she didn't, then she would have to go back home. Home, where she had a drunken father, an angry brother, and no job. No, home wansn't where she wanted to be right now....


"Casey, what are you doing calling?" Magda was shocked, she hadn't talked to Casey in forever.....
"Hey Magda, look have you seen Jinny? We were suppose to meet for dinner tonight, but she never showed. She sounded pretty upset on the phone earlier."
Magda dind't want to be the one to tell Casey about Jinny, but then again, she knew Jinny. SHe knew she would never blow off Casey. "Last time I saw here was a little before lunch. She was having a rough day, and went home early."
"She didn't go home...?"
"What do you mean?"
"I just talked to Dad, he hasn't seen Jinny since early this morning, when she left for work."
'Then where the hell is she'?

Jinny quickly got up and dressed. The clock read 3:00 AM. "Damn" Jinny couldn't belive what she had done. Withing 24 hours she had lost her job, relapsed from 3 months in hell, and slept with a guy whose name she barely remembered. "Jacob?" Jinny took one last look at the guy she was about to leave behind. She had hoped that he wasn't the emotional type of guy. It's not like she set out to hurt people, it just seemed to happen. She quickly grabbed her shoes and crept out the door. This was the last she would see of him... wasn't it?

"I've done a full dispatch on Jinny, Mag. I got descriptions sent out and an APB out on her."
"Thanks Raina" It was now officially 24 hours since Jinny went missing. They could legally start a missing person search. Magda and Casey had been working all morning. CD and Nate had partolled all alleys and backstreets possible and Raina had made new friends across the state over the phone. Kate was queit. No one though of it though, they were too busy looking for Jinny. Kate was busy doing her own search.
"Have you seen a tall bruneet come in today? Between 10 AM and sometime early this morning. She goes by the name Jinny Exstead. No? Ok, thank you."
"Kate, I have the names and phone numbers of all the bars in the area within a 20 mile radious. Here they are"
"Thanks Raina"
Magda had just happen to over hear Kate and Raina talking.
"Cap, what are you doing?"
"I'm searching all the bars in San Fransico and the San Fransico area."
"Bu--t? Jinny wouldn't go there....she's been doing good."
"Look Magda, I don't want to admite it either, but times as hard as the ones that have landed on Jinny push some to the edge. I'm just thinking realistically."
"I don't think you thinking at all! She wouldn't do that, not after all--"
"I'm not saying she did, i'm just checking"
"Yea, whatever" Magda couldn't belive it. Was she the only one that belived in Jinny? Was she the only one that didn't doubt her? Or was she just the only one that was so blinded by her friendship that she couldn't face the hard reality? "I gotta keep looking"

Jinny had been walking for 3 hours now, she had no idea where she was, or any idea where her car was. She could feel her head pounding as the hangover started to set in. Things started to get dizzy. Everything was spinning. Suddenly she started falling, falling, falling.... "Where am I?"
"Your with me" came a rough, deep voice of a man that Jinny was afraid too look at, and even more afraid to know why she was here.

Hey guys, thanks for readings. Ummm. anyway, i'm not a cop...so i don't know the terminology, so where every you see a (?) that means I don't know if it's right, but it sounded good to me!


"I have the case written up. Theres nothing more I can do, there is not way we can get enough evidence to incriminate the guy. I'm sorry." Teddy had to do another phone call to the captain in the east division (?) "I'-- yes sir, yes sir... i'm sorry,b ut I have to go..... good bye" Teddy was very thankful for the call that came on the other end. He had to get away from the Captain. "Thedore Blumenthal."
"......."
"Hello?"
"Teddy..."
"Yes...?"
"Please come get me....."

Jinny knew where she was. She had been here before. She was behind a bar, in an alley...and alley she had been to before.
"Ma'm are you ok?" Came the rough voice once again. The Bar tender, Sam, had picked up Jinny and sat her inside. He assumed that she was a customer that he had forgetten, and had had a little too much to drink.
"Uhh--oh, yea, thanks" Jinny couldn't belive she called him, but she coudln't face anyone else. For some reason she felt that she could be vulnerable with Teddy. She could open up and show her feelings. She needed that right now. Just then the door flew open.
"Jinny?"
"ohh teddy...." Jinny coudln't help but to cry. Seeing him made all the feelings come rushing forward. She fact that she had lost him, the fact that she had practically given him away. "It's ok Jinny, come on let's go. . ."
