I just thought about this since Encore Black actually just started airing two episodes of The Jeffersons every weeknight at 9 EST/6 PST. I think that it's pretty safe to suggest that it being on for at least 10 years. People may not want to buy that many DVDs to get an entire series when you can get all of Sanford and Son or Good Times (which each didn't last as long as The Jeffersons) for less money.
