Has anyone ever heard of that expression? It is supposed to be common around the Midwest and the South. I have lived in the Midwest for over 40 years and today was the first time I heard it.

nope never heard it. But, my brother, his wife son live in Arkansas and they're coming up on Wednesday for my dads funeral, so I'll ask them.

We always called that a sun shower,

That phrase sounds vaguely familiar but maybe I've just read it online- I don't know if I can recall anyone actually saying it.
Of course, I've never heard the term "sunshower" though.
There are apparently a wide variety of folklore and beliefs regarding this phenomenon in various parts of the world-

Of course, the phrase itself makes no sense to me- I'm pretty sure the devil's not married- but then I suppose it's possible that he's paired up with one of the demons........
The Bible gives no indication towards that; I don't know what other religious writings might say.
But I suppose this is just one of those weird phrases that is used though it probably really doesn't make any sense....
