Has anyone ever heard of that expression? It is supposed to be common around the Midwest and the South. I have lived in the Midwest for over 40 years and today was the first time I heard it.

But, my brother, his wife son live in Arkansas and they're coming up on Wednesday for my dads funeral, so I'll ask them. Penny Lane 02-02-2014, 02:12 PM Nope! Never heard of it! I'm curious to know just what that means! tiredmike59 02-02-2014, 02:15 PM When it rains while the sun is shining. We always called that a sun shower, OH Nuts! 02-03-2014, 12:20 AM I've never heard of it either. MacLeaper 02-03-2014, 10:49 AM That phrase sounds vaguely familiar but maybe I've just read it online- I don't know if I can recall anyone actually saying it. Of course, I've never heard the term "sunshower" though. There are apparently a wide variety of folklore and beliefs regarding this phenomenon in various parts of the world- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunshower Of course, the phrase itself makes no sense to me- I'm pretty sure the devil's not married- but then I suppose it's possible that he's paired up with one of the demons........ The Bible gives no indication towards that; I don't know what other religious writings might say. But I suppose this is just one of those weird phrases that is used though it probably really doesn't make any sense.... |
